How to get new and improved anchor text!

There have been dozens of articles written about the value of entering the keywords you want to get ranked for in the anchor text of backlinks you build to promote your site. As you know, backlinks help your site get ranked by search engines for your target keywords, resulting in more traffic to your site. A virtuous circle of sorts.
One important source of backlinks are the comments that you leave on DoFollow blogs, however usually the only opportunity to build anchor text on DoFollow blogs consists of little more than leaving your name. While this helps you rank well for your name, it’s more or less worthless for the keywords you're trying to rank for. That’s why lots of commentators like to enter keywords into the name field, but they do run the risk of being branded spammers.
Everyone wants to get the most for their links, but it's more fun to communicate with folks when you've got a name to work with rather than "Hi Utah Cycler". To encourage people to leave their name without depriving them of the benefit of keywords, today I installed a nifty little WordPress plug-in called KeywordLuv.
KeywordLuv (and a separate Dofollow plugin to remove the nofollow tag) rewards commentators on your blog by separating their name from their keywords (in the link to their website). This results in improved anchor text and encourages more people to comment. For example, typing “Kevin @ Greater Bethesda Real Estate” in the name field results in the following: Kevin from Greater Bethesda Real Estate.
KeywordLuv hasn’t been tested with most DoFollow plugins but I'm using it with Lucia's Linky Love - so far with no problems. I've read there are some compatibility issues with certain WordPress themes, so if you have problems check for workarounds (there is one available at KeywordLuv). Installation was a piece of cake, even for a Nu-bee like me and you can customize the instructions for commentators if you like.
So give it a whirl! Try it out at Madison Realtor Rants & Raves and get yourself a little link love!
