Canada Fest 2007
Posted Jan 5, 2007 @ 1:12 am, Viewed by 779 Visitors, Read 780 Times.The City of Hollywood, Florida will be hosting Canada Fest 2007 on January 20th and 21st along the newly renovated Hollywood Beach Boardwalk. This festival is the official arrival of the many Canadian "snowbirds" who travel south each year to escape the cold winter.
It is estimated that approximately 250,000 Canadians travel each year to South Florida for the winter months staying in cities from West Palm Beach down to Miami. With the Canadain Dollar almost equal to the US Dollar, Canadians have one more reason to come.
Canada Fest celebrates French Canadian (Quèbec) culture and will feature cuisine, continuous music on two stages, exhibits from Canadian, international and local merchants and promises to be a good time for all. Canada Fest attracts over 150,000 people each year and is considered to be the "biggest French festival in the United States"
Among the many Quèbec artists scheduled to perform this year are Claudette Dion and Daniel Dion, brother and sister of world Superstar and probably the most famous Canadian, Céline Dion. The event directors, Yves Beauchamp and Robert Doyon have said there may also be a "surprise appearance" for those in attendance. One can only guess....
So, if you are in town, come on down to Hollywood Beach, enjoy the sun and join in on the fun.

Hey Morgan: Thank you. Congrats on the new baby! Let me know when your coming, and I'll show you around. I agree about the dollar. It hurts when I come up there when I used to get $1.50+ Canadian for every US dollar.

Man I would love to be there, but with the new baby, I can't get away. In terms of the dollar being on par, it's great to get us down there, but sucks for us Canadians that get paid in US dollars doh! - You have anything for Canadians in the Summer John, I might be able to get out then.
