I've been keeping an eye on prices for Palos Park, IL single family homes since this beautiful village lost it's top spot as the highest priced southwest suburb in 2010 to Lemont. Since I have started keeping real estate sales statistics on Palos Park from 2005 on, it has always been the most expensive village in the area.
| Year | Lemont | Palos Park |
| 2011 | $356,828 | $424,586 |
| 2010 | $394,873 | $380,888 |
| 2009 | $379,868 | $481,283 |
| 2008 | $423,124 | $543,485 |
| 2007 | $453,909 | $642,041 |
| 2006 | $521,376 | $603,015 |
| 2005 | $445,175 | $550,331 |
The average sale prices for single family Lemont homes in 2011 fell
9.3% compared to 2010. Palos Park showed a double digit increase of
10.8%. Of course, prices are still down from the overinflated
Seller's Market of 2007 during boom times, but there aren't many
southwest Chicago suburbs showing an increase in prices. This data
is provided by the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS®.
