Higher Activity in the Southwest Chicago Suburbs

I'm certainly not as busy as I'd like to be but there was a big lull in my area for awhile.  All of a sudden, a few of my listings were getting a nice amount of showings and one of my Tinley Park homes for sale just got a contract.  That was a nice one since the sellers already purchased a new townhouse and are living apart - one in the townhouse and one in the house (many people don't realize that their Home Owner's insurance probably doesn't cover a vacant property).  This couple isn't taking the chance.

Another thing I noticed is the amount of my VOW sign-ups (VOW requires registration) has gone up recently. In fact, I had an e-mail conversation with an Active Rainer about a new lead generating program he started using called Growth Leader.  He told me he was getting about 1 lead a day from this new program and he's in a much busier area than I am (in a warm climate).  I received 11 VOW registrations from yesterday to today.  To be fair, he did say that he is actually going to be working with one of the leads he received so I guess 1 hot lead is better than 11 possible lookers or dreamers. 

I'm just happy to be seeing some renewed activity in the area.  I still have some listings sitting around and the funny thing is, it seems that the listings with the least amount of showings are the least expensive listings.  It's usually the opposite, which I guess goes to show that first-time home buyers are being pushed out of the market right now.  And I think many are still waiting, thinking that prices will continue to drop.

And I keep going on listing appointments only to leave empty handed because the sellers "need" more than their properties are worth.  Let the next agent take them.  I'm getting really picky in today's market!
