Visitors to my website keep sending me questions about what to look out for when buying a home. Of course, I don't mind these inquiries, as I am the one who encourages them to ask me. Today, I will share with you some of the frequently asked questions I received.
If I'm interested in a property, how can I determine if the list price is fair?
We will look at the property's sales history and comparable recent sales to help assess true market value.
How do I know what price to offer for a property?
Based on comparable recent sales and our extensive experience, as well as any other relevant factors such as competing offers, we will recommend an offer price that will protect your best interests and give you your best chance to get your dream property.

Buying A Home - Some Basics
We all know how complicated it is to buy a new home. I have learned that if you break this process into smaller parts, you can survive the disruption.
So, what are the questions and issues you have to think of?
First, of course, is financing. Points, closing costs, down payment - all of this comes first. Then upkeeping, escrow payments, mortgages... So be sure your assumption is realistic.
You also have to decide on the type of your home. Will it be a condo? A semi detached house? A single one? Think it over.
Then, location, location, location! If you can afford it, try to find a home with convenient access, white color on the local crime map, not too heavy traffic, proximity of amemities - you would have to consider many aspects.

As this is my first weblog post, I've decided to tell you a little bit about myself.
I am 38 years old, born in Vancouver, BC. I grew up in the Lawrence Park area of Toronto. I attended Carleton University, in Ottawa, Ontario. Previous to real estate, I was a multiple award winner with College Pro Painters for 5 years as a Franchisee in Ottawa, and in Toronto as a Field Advisor and General Manager. I am a cancer survivor since October 2000.
