Buying a home - some basics
Posted Feb 5, 2008 @ 4:02 am, Viewed by 257 Visitors, Read 258 Times. We all know how complicated it is to buy a new home. I have learned that if you break this process into smaller parts, you can survive the disruption.
So, what are the questions and issues you have to think of?
First, of course, is financing. Points, closing costs, down payment - all of this comes first. Then upkeeping, escrow payments, mortgages... So be sure your assumption is realistic.
You also have to decide on the type of your home. Will it be a condo? A semi detached house? A single one? Think it over.
Then, location, location, location! If you can afford it, try to find a home with convenient access, white color on the local crime map, not too heavy traffic, proximity of amemities - you would have to consider many aspects.
And don't forget to inspect the home, as these couple of hours are worth saving you a lot of trouble.
What am I forgetting?
Well, let me know below.
