Wellington Florida's Town leadership decided to raise the city tax above what is recommended by the state. There were many residents of Wellington that came to the meeting to say that they moved to Wellington for the great parks and activities and they did not want those services affected by the new state tax reduction on property taxes. Business people did not want the taxes raised and the residents did not mind. They said it boils down to the price of a Pepsi a day to keep the parks and activities in place.

Traffic coming home to Wellington has really been miserable lately if you have to travel on West Southern Blvd. Well, actually going east is bad too! I always take another route and avoid Southern Blvd whenever I possibly can.

They said they are moving the west bound barricades in just a few weeks! Yeah! Doesn't it seem like this has been going on forever?

The contractor, Community Asphalt says that their goal is to complete the shifting of traffic over to the new overpass sometime in September. They also said this time frame could change with the weather! Well, it seems the weather may have been delaying this project for 7 years now!!!

The Wellington Village's Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board recommended changes to Wellington's comprehensive plan and allowing some mixed- use areas. They want to have several different types or subtypes of the mixed uses. Most of these places that this applies to will be on 441, State Road 7. Mixed use will allow some commercial, office, industrial, institutional and public facilities, parks and open space. Most mixed use rules out residential. In the  Residential areas of Wellington the village and residents are very protective as to the look and feel our our community.

Developers are looking for new and innovative structuring of the mixed use designations for developing and re- developing. This new ruling will give them a some wider choices.

Even though the press is printing and broadcasting doom and gloom the Wellington Fl luxury home market is still alive.
