Stadium Jumping Saga Continues As Village Delays Approvals
Posted Aug 18, 2007 @ 6:04 pm, Viewed by 382 Visitors, Read 386 Times. There are landowners who are concerned about what this will do to their property values because of new restrictions it will place on horse arenas. The new ordinance would require the landowners already living in this section of Wellington to have to go before the Village and plead their case for building their horse arenas instead of simply applying for a permit which now is the case. This gives the Village the power to totally deny a landowner their right to build an arena. Could it be that that is just Stadium Jumping making sure no one can build arenas except for them? Something to think about.
Of course this will also apply to Glenn Straub, the person people in Wellington love to hate. He also warned against this measure being approved saying that individual property rights are being infringed upon including his. Straub sued the Village of Wellington again last week. Seems he is always in a law suit with someone around here. Oh, my, his attorneys must love him! Or at least getting mighty wealthy with all the law suits flying around Glenn Straub.
Mark Bellissimo is also up in arms regarding Stadium Jumping's proposed move because he says he has an agreement with Jean Mische for Stadium Jumping to remain on Bellissimo's property where it is currently.

Stadium Jumping is a big money maker for the Village of Wellington and the residents here. Many people rent their homes out during the horse season, there are many temporary jobs the Winter Equestrian Festival brings to Wellington and there are many more benefits to having Stadium Jumping remain in Wellington.
We will see what happens when the Village rehears this on August 20th. If you want to add your input make sure to be at the meeting so you can speak up for your individual property rights if you are a landowner with arena rights.
