Union County, NC - Water Restrictions
Posted Oct 9, 2007 @ 8:41 pm, Viewed by 857 Visitors, Read 894 Times.Update:: As of Wed. Oct. 10th, we have moved back to stage 2 water restrictions!
I was always taught to offer a solution, when I feel like complaining about a problem. Well I can't take credit for this solution, but I want to help spread the word!

"What started out as a way to run a water game at his granddaughter's block party turned out to be a solution on how to take care of other things as well. Since water restrictions were in place...he started collecting the runoff water from his own air conditioner, his neighbors, and granddaughters. After 3 days and 3 homes he collected about 30 gallons of water. It was clearly marked at the block party as a/c runoff water so no one would think they were wasting water. After the party what was left over was used to water neighborhood park flowers. The gentleman still continues to collect the water from his own a/c and his neighbors for watering the flowers and shrubs. On humid days he is alble to collect about a gallon an hour from his home alone. He stated it takes some work but it is worth it to him."

The solution -
"The draining water comes from the unit in the house not the one on the pad outside. It may be in the crawl space or in the attic. There will be a PVC pipe coming from the unit that is how the condensation is routed out of the house.
I have two one is in the crawl space and the other is in the attic. The one in the attic drains into a vent pipe. The one in the crawl space drains under my deck."
I hope this word spreads and helps people out! This Post Has No Comments.
