Oh, My Tax Bill Went Up!

     This time of year, since about February, many of us are trying to understand howand why our property taxes are going up.  As many of you know, our area is really booming with new construction, new shopping and new families moving in. This all comes with progress and it is a good thing if your home value has gone up if you are thinking of selling your home here in Conroe, or The Woodlands.

     The road system is improving--River Plantation residents are loving their access to both North and South I-45 directions.  We do want the tax appraisal office to be realistic on these increases, though.  If you have a problem with your assessed taxes on your home, maybe they don't have enough updated information, you may go down to the Montgomery Tax Appraiser's office on
Gladstell (East of I-45) and let them know some of the home sales in your area that would compare to your home.  If you need to reach MCAD, their number is (936) 441-2186.  Don't forget, though, that our property values are based on what a buyer will purchase our home for and what they have purchased in your neighborhood in the past.  Let me know if I can help.
