The John Cooper School Seussical; Production a Great Success!

What a treat it was to be a part of the audience for this first musical production at the new Performing Arts Center (PAC) located on the campas of John Cooper school in The Woodlands.  This was a musical based on the works of Dr. Seuss.  But it wasn't just a string of his stories set to music.  In fact what they have done is to create a totally new, full-length book musical, with a story which weaves together his most famous tales and characters in unexpected ways.  You remember reading a Dr. Seuss book to your child, I'm sure.  I do, and in fact McEligott's Pool is still in our library.  With a cast and technical crew of over 40 young people and many, many staff and volunteers, this production was fabulous and entertaining.  The creative costumes and choreography were wonderful and captured all of the over 500 in the audience of Sunday's final  performance.  There were several other performances, also. This new PAC facility has theatre-like seating, a grand stage with several sections and computer operated lighting on the side panals in the audience.  Overall it was a great experience.  Congratulations to all the young people who worked so hard to make everything flow together like clockwork.  And especially to my good friends, John, Joanne and Holden Tikkanen (all who had a special part in it).  We're very proud of everyone who participated to make this such a great success.  Be looking for more productions at PAC in the future--I know I will be.  (View the picture attached of the cast.)          --  Linda Dayen
