Tampa International Airport Ranked #1 by Zagat Survey

Recently, Zagat surveyed more than 7,000 frequent fliers who ranked large U.S. airports on quality and service.  Zagat has been in the business of surveying for over 26 years in more than 70 markets. 

In their recent survey project for airports in the United States, Tampa International Airport came in the number 1 spot.  The survey covered 7,498 frequent fliers who rated 84 airlines and 46 major airports. Each airline was separately rated on its premium and economy service for both domestic and international flights.  The typical survey participant took 19.7 flights in the past year aggregating 147,000 trips.  Tampa International received top marks for overall quality (a 21 rating out of a possible 30).

This is another plus for our area.  Having a highly rated International Airport is important to many business people who choose to relocate to the Tampa Bay area.  While I am not a frequent flyer, I have flown in and out of many different airports in the United States.  And, I would absolutely agree with the respondents of this survey. 

Tampa Airport is very easy to get in and out of.  Parking, whether it is long or short term, is quick and convenient, and if you want to save money on parking, there is a remote economy lot where you can save considerably.  Once you park, you walk to a bus shelter and take a short bus ride into the terminal.  Allowing an extra 20 minutes for this is usually sufficient.  And, if money is no option Tampa Airport also has "valet" parking.  Daily rate costs are $25.  Another really great option is the free "Cell Phone Waiting Lot".  If you get to the airport early, it's a nice place to hang out and wait for the flight to come in.

Another really nice thing about Tampa airport is that they never disappoint me in how quickly they delivery the bags at the end of a weary flight.  As much as we all love to vacation, there's no one who can't wait to get home after a long day of traveling.  Most of the time, the bags are circulating on the turn-style by the time I arrive from the tram.

If you are thinking about relocating to the Tampa Bay area, you too will be very impressed with Tampa International Airport.  But, don't take our word for it, plan a trip and find out for yourself!
