My Christmas Present

Well we said we would not do it again but something's definitely missing in our house. Thurman, our cocker spaniel, died right around the time the kids grew up and moved out and it doesn't look like we are going to be getting any grandkids anytime soon. We've always had a dog in the house and once a dog lover, always a dog lover, I guess.
So, here he is the new Lipply member. His name is Buddy. He's a Cavalier King Charles Tri-Color. He won't be home until after Christmas because he's only 5 weeks old so we have plenty of time to get ready for him.
In case you don't know about Cavaliers they are the perfect lap dog. They only grow to be about 18 lbs. and love to be around you. They don't like to be alone for too long and breeders won't sell them to you if you work all day outside the home. I'm in and out all day long, but my wife is almost always around because she works from home. Buddy will get lots of attention and love. I may even start bringing clients to the house to show him off!

Actually, we are getting him very close to where you are. This breeder is in Tallahassee. There is also a good one in your city that has puppies right now.

Are you sure he's real?? He looks like a stuffed animal !! He's too perfect to be real. And I thought for sure you'd do another cocker spaniel, but I was wrong. Then again, as much as I loved Barkley, I don't think I'll do another Dalmation. Anyway have fun with him, and you and Donna have a very Merry Christmas!
Hi Irene - This is Donna and I will answer for Bob. He's been duly warned not to spoil this one. He used to put Thurman in bed with him and when I tried to get comfortable, Thurman would growl at me. Wish me luck this time! Have a Merry Christmas.
He's real alright Brian. Actually Cavaliers are a form of Spaniel, just not as big and much more friendly, lovable, and most importantly CALM. They have all the same "hunting" skills as well. We did a lot of research on the perfect dog for us and this is what we came up with. Once we saw a few of them, we were hooked.

Quick, trade Buddy in for a cat! Only kidding! The wife and daughter want the kitten we just got to replace the dog we lost (because of old age). I guess I'm just a good husband and father to allow the cat to replace dog! Perhaps I'm getting old and senile. Have fun with Buddy (I'm envious!).

He just might be the cutest thing I've ever seen...not sure if he's real. Reminds of the scene in ET when ET fits right in with the stuffed animals. After seeing this guy, I had no problem saying "yes" to sitting for the same exact one year old dog on New Year's Eve. Enjoy him, he's beautiful!!!
We just got the word that he's ready to come home on Jan 5th!

Well, it's been a month, so I guess little Buddy runs the roost by now. He sure is cute. Can't wait to meet him in person. Talk to you guys soon.
