Coming to HGTV on AUGUST 14TH AT 10:00 PM is the Trinity FL episode of "Goodbye Gators" on House Hunters.  This is the first time in many years that the House Hunters team has come to the Tampa Bay area and Trinity, along with the McCollum family, stole their hearts.  We hope you will tune and watch the show!

House Hunters on HGTV august 18 at 10pm

Joe Gibbons, Realtor with Lipply Real Estate Team, helped the McCollum family of Trinity look for a new home in the Pasco County Trinity subdivision of Fox Wood after selling their current home.  Their home, which sold in 2007, sold in just 33 days at very close to their asking price.  Once the home sold, the McCollum family was in a hurry to find the perfect home.  So the team set out and looked at roughly 20 homes in Fox Wood.  Their search was limited to Trinity because the McCollum's did not want to leave the area they had learned to love and call home for the last few years.

The House Hunters crew arrived with cameras and a soundman to capture the hunt on film.  There are a few scenes such as a party and a visit to the Re/Max office where other members of the team were filmed for a second or two. But the majority of the show revolves around Ivis, Marcus, and their two sons, as well as Joe Gibbons, as they tour the Trinity subdivision viewing their 3 final home choices.

It's a tough decision because all three homes are perfect in one way or another but the family chose and they did a really good job of not giivng it away during filming.

Thanks guys, we had a lot of fun during the filming.  We definitely had the perfect customer too.  My wife was there everyday watching them and it was an incredible amount of work.  Retake after retake.  Joe kept saying "let's check it out" and Ivis kept saying "fabulous".  Two of the houses weren't tidy enough when we got there so we had to straighten them up.  Another house had a loud bird and two large dogs in one bedroom that we weren't allowed in.  I thought the Producer and the Owner were going to duke it out at one point, cuz the Producer said they had to get in there and film.  Think the Owner won - will have to wait and see the final product.

Hopefully in the end, they found the house they wanted...

Actually, they found the house they wanted before the filming - they were under contract.  Then the crew comes in and backs everything up.  No one is allowed to pack either.  That's their rules.  It's TV.  You can imagine how hard it is to find an understanding buyer / seller combination.

That's great although I wish you and Donna were filmed.  I'll be in CA visiting the rest of my family on the 14th so I'll have to set it up on my dvr.  There was one episode that I watched more than once and it was so funny since the wife would be quiet and at the end she'd say, "too small."  Her husband was an agent and their interaction and her responses were the funniest episode I ever saw.

Donna is still trying to get me to do one.  Not sure I can afford the time commitment - it's a full 40 hour week.  I have one outrageously funny "customer" - that if he ever buys a house, we will go for it though. We should be in this episode briefly if they don't cut us.  They let Donna come to two parties and we shot a scene in the office where Joe comes in and I say "good morning" and shake his hand.  We'll see what makes it in.

They cut me, but Donna made it!  It was right in the beginning at the first party.  We all thought Joe did a great job but Ivis definitely stole the show.

We were happy to see that the producers told the real story.  The home they thought they wanted (our listing on Blue Beech Court) went under contract the week the McCollum's house sold.  It was one of those homes that could steal anyone's heart but it really wasn't big enough for them.

The house they ultimately bought on Edelweiss fit them to a tee and is big enough for their growing family.

We had a great turn out at the airing party and we had a lot of fun watching the show together for the first time.
