Tampa Bay Today -- High 80 Degrees in mid February

While the rest of the country is feeling the effects of frigid winter temperatures, here in the Tampa Bay area of Florida we are enjoying warm sunny days with temperatures averaging 75 degrees this week.  It's mid February!

Last week we had a cold spell come in and temperatures dropped to the 40s and 50s and you would have thought it was going to snow here.  Floridians were not happy.  Most stayed inside with the heat on. We were quite miserable.  Thank goodness that only happens once or twice a year!

Some people from the north would laugh at us but most of us moved here because we really hate the cold or just can't take the cold extreme northern temperatures anymore.  It's certainly not for everyone but if you have been thinking that it's time to move to sunny Florida, us Floridians are here to tell you that you will love it here!

Yes, we have hot and humid summers with average high temperatures in the low to mid 90s.  But we almost never reach the 100s.  I have lived here for almost 25 years and I cannot remember more than one day that our temperatures got that high.

So, if you are thinking about moving to Florida here's the good news.  The first year is the hardest as far as tolerating the high summer temperatures.  But the body does adjust and in no time you will be joining us indoors with the heat on if the temperature drops below 60 degrees.  Recently my family moved here from Connecticut and the first summer for them was rough.  The kids walked around with red faces sometimes looking like they had high blood pressure!  That's all in the past now and the second summer was a breeze.  I never heard them complain once that it was too hot.  In fact, they too had the heat on last week.

Living in Florida is great.  We enjoy the great outdoors almost every day of the year.  We get out and walk every day, go the beach in December, and if we want to go skiing, we get on a plane and take a vacation!  Rain almost never spoils the day so when you make plans to have a picnic or go boating, you can most times follow through on your plans.  The sun shines here every day and the skies are perpetually blue.

If you are thinking about moving to Florida or just buying a second home in Florida, we hope you will choose the Tampa Bay Real Estate area.  There are many different housing options available to you and the Tampa Bay area is one of the most affordable beach communities in all of Florida.  We have some of the top beaches in the country too.  Call or email the Lipply Group when you are ready to get serious about moving here.  Over the past 10 years we have helped many families make the move to Florida.  It's our job to assist you in this adventure.  We look forward to hearing from you.
