Life as You Please in East Cobb...

Welcome to life in East Cobb, a highly-coveted address for native Atlantan's and newcomers alike. Located approximately 15 miles northeast of the downtown area, this affluent part of Atlanta offers the ideal suburban lifestyle. With easy access to both I-75 and 285, the location is as close to the city as you can get without being in Fulton County.  The convenience of a shorter commute combined with the active, family-oriented community feel of East Cobb makes for the perfect balance of work and play.

There are many reasons one would choose to live in the East Cobb area, but probably the first reason that comes to mind is the incredible public school system. "A Community with a Passion for Learning": East Cobb is home to some of the state's highest-ranking schools! Both the Walton and Pope High School districts continuously score amongst the best in the state for both academics and athletics. Lassiter High School is also an outstanding school, and Wheeler High School is a magnet school for mathematics and science. Many of the schools are National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. Truly there is no such thing as a bad school district in East Cobb. When I have clients moving to Atlanta that want excellent public schools, East Cobb is the first place I suggest.

East Cobb is a wonderfully established area, adorned with tree-filled subdivisions, shops, and restaurants. The Avenues of East Cobb - located off Roswell Road just east of Johnson Ferry Road - is an incredibly popular outdoor-air shopping mall that is fantastic for an afternoon stroll and ice cream. Oh, and not to mention all the great shops!! J The Avenues has done so well, in fact, that there are several more Avenues being built around Atlanta.

East Cobb also offers outdoor recreation with golf courses at Indian Hills Golf & Country Club, and the prestigious Atlanta Golf & Country Club. Take the kids out to play at one of East Cobb's parks, including the Chattahoochee River National Park and the 20+ acre East Cobb Park. The East Cobb Park was constructed in 2002, and was funded almost entirely by East Cobb residents and businesses. This beautiful park offers walking trails, open grass fields, a "destination" playground, an outdoor classroom and an outdoor stage. The Park holds many events, including "Movies in the Park" and Holiday light celebrations. The Park has been a huge success, with undoubtedly many thanks due to the strong community in East Cobb.

East Cobb is truly its own little bubble of life. You could easily live in East Cobb and never have to leave for one thing. In fact, many East Cobb residents have lived in East Cobb for years and years. My own mother has lived in East Cobb for 17 years, and refuses to leave! She is completely content in her bubble. She loves the area and convenience (and East Cobb in general). I recently sold a home to a high-school friend of mine, right in the heart of our old high school "stompin' grounds". When previewing homes, we often found ourselves in homes of people we knew, or parents of people we knew, or someone who somehow we knew! It was a funny experience, but ultimately it felt just like HOME.
