Rodeo and County Fair in Payson, AZ- come for a good time!

August 15th through the 17th brings the "World's Oldest Continuous Rodeo" to Payson, AZ. This is the 124th year for the Rodeo, held on the 3rd weekend in August. Here is a list of events and times. The Rodeo is held at the Payson Event Center, South of town, across the Beeline Hwy (Hwy 87, the highway which comes North from Phoenix) from the Mazatzal Casino. The Casino, if you don't know, is located just South of Payson on the Tonto Apache Reservation.

The Rodeo Parade will be held on Main  Street, Saturday morning (the 16th), starting from Green Valley Park at 9am, and ending at the Sawmill Crossing shopping center.

Payson is also home to the Northern Gila County Fair September 5th through the 7th. The fun starts at 9 in the morning, with exhibits of all kinds of things. Included are cooking, sewing, quilting, flowers and produce, crafts, photography, fine art. You name it and you can probably find it!

The Fair exhibits are in the Tonto Apache Reservation Gym- turn next to the Mazatzal Casino, drive past it and look for the Gym on the right. The livestock judging and horse show will be at the Payson Event Center, which is across the Beeline Hwy from the Casino.

Saturday night features a dance with live music by Junction 87 from 7pm to 10pm, and Sunday afternoon offers a Demolition Derby at 1 pm.
