Calling all RE Bloggers - Introducing the Palmetto State Challenge
Posted Apr 22, 2008 @ 8:32 pm, Viewed by 1151 Visitors, Read 1232 Times.Hello my fellow real estate bloggers! Are you up for a challenge? How about a Palmetto State Challenge?
While I'm the proud proprietor, etc, and etc, of the Elegant Augusta Real Estate Blog, located in Augusta Georgia, I also do business in, and more importantly live, in South Carolina...the Palmetto State.

I'm throwing the gauntlet down to you...Submit your favorite real estate blog post of the week to me at the Blog. Just send me a link to your entry using my contact form. I'll link up my leading contenders in an end of the week post. The following week, in a special blog post, using a special algorithm developed by me, Matt Cutts, and the Google Pigeons, I will announce the blog post I liked the best.
The winner will not only get a link to their blog homepage from a dedicated page on my blog, listing all the Medal Winners in a Page of Honor....No, they will also receive the code for this handy-dandy badge I made up for their sidebar. Use the logo or not, but feel yourself proud to call yourself a Winner...
...of the Palmetto State Challenge.
Now for the stupid rules:
- It's easy to enter- just send a link to your post, or submit entries to lydia taylor AT north of the savannah DOT com with no spaces. Please put 'palmetto challenge' in the subject line!
- entries must be less than a month old
- entries must be somehow related to the topic of real estate
- only one entry per blog, please. pick the best, don't just submit every article.
- you can nominate your own posts or anyone else's
- blog entries can be posted anywhere, I'm not limiting this to REW in any way
- you don't have to live in South Carolina to enter, or win, but it might just help!
- I decide the winner in a strictly partial, happy-go-lucky, devil-may-care manner that only I can divine and which probably will make no sense at all to potential runners up.
Now the gauntlet has been thrown. Show me what you've got! You can read more in my first Palmetto Challenge post, and of course, see the Palmetto Challenge Winner page.

Nice! You will be getting some entries from me (and some referral entries when I see good stuff...) Best; Eric
Thanks guys! I know there are 1 or 2 other blogs that do this, but I'm trying to do something with my own flair. I just want everyone to know that I'm all about promoting good writing and that I don't play favorites. Active Rain, etc, come on and show me what you've got! So please feel free, it only takes 2 extra minutes to send a link my way and you just might get some great publicity and some free links out of it. Isn't that a win-win for everyone?
Sounds great Lydia. I'm in.
To be clear, you are looking for submissions from blog entries posted on our blogs? Or are you looking for us to submit a blog entry to be posted on your blog?
Thanks Lydia, I sent you one last night. Now I need to work on one for my other blog.
Joe - I don't care where you post the original, just send me a link. I don't want to post someone else's content! I'll reference the work with a link from my blog to where the post is. But...If you want to send a guest post in, I'll be glad to post it for you though.
@Lydia--just PM'd you--grin...check it out...
Eric - you have mail!!
Lydia, I like the way the winner is picked - "strictly partial, happy-go-lucky, devil-may-care manner that only I can divine!" Should be no other way! Let's clarify how the winner is picked - Lydia decides the winner in a strictly partial, happy-go-lucky, devil-may-care manner that only she can divine and which probably will make no sense at all to potential runners up. Got that everybody - don't have to worry about what time or which data center either. Good, fun, post!
thataway- If you are curious, I said that because no matter how great a winning post is, there is always someone that thinks their post was better. I can't help that...I sympathize, because I've submitted articles in blog carnivals, etc and a couple of times I was shocked at the quality of the contenders and winners vs my own. (Meaning I thought I should have at least placed. ;-)) You just have to trust in the integrity of the judge and not try to second guess. I figured that if I said something to address that issue up-front, maybe that would be understood by the contestants going in. Perhaps humor wasn't the best way to put it, but that was the intent behind the words!
Lydia, I did find it humorous. I like the rules. It's your blog, you are the judge, and you pick the winners. Just as it should be. I loved your post and was not ribbing you. I look forward to seeing the winning entry!
Regarding the runner-up. I haven't submitted an entry yet, and I don't think I'll win, but I think my blog entry that I haven't submitted yet is better than the blog entry that will win! [grin]
Hope Lydia thinks so! LOL
If you want to enter you can just PM me here or use the contact form on the website. Thats a DOHP! that someone just pointed out to me. I'll be updating the posts in the morning (YAWN). And by the way Joe, you have a good chance- you are a great blogger and (cue that Captain Kirk voice) there...are...NOT...that many...submissions...yet...
This is a pretty cool idea! Now just let me see what I can write up worth competing
I wish I could use an older post. I titled one "getting high in Austin" and it was about all the new high-rises being built downtown. That title got me a lot of attention!
Very nice
