Goal - My New Website On 1st Page Of Google By 4th Quarter Of 2008 - Part 2
Posted Jun 23, 2008 @ 7:37 pm, Viewed by 333 Visitors, Read 379 Times. Here is my previous post - http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/blogs/marc-rasmussen/5139/show/. In a nutshell, I made the goal about a month ago to get my newest sarasota real estate website on the first page of Google for 'sarasota real estate'. I have not been working on it as diligently as I could have. I have been busy selling real estate (knock on wood). I ran into a string of buyers that were ready to do something now. That seems to be rare in this market. My partner and I have 8 deals pending.
I have noticed some movement with my site. It is strange. One day I will be on the first page and then I trade places with another site that was not previously on the first page. Then we rotate. We have rotated several times now. It looks like Google is testing to see which site is stickier. My site seems to be more compelling but I am a bit biased.
So, I am definitely not there yet. When my site is on the first page it is not the same on every datacenter. In fact, it shows up on only a few of them.

8 deals, not bad at all Marc!
I'm sure you'll have the new site at #2 very soon.
Marc,
Google is doing the same to me, though I am not where near the first page (yet) I was on page 6, then a few days later on page 57, go figure.
Hey Marc... why do you even want to be on page 1 for that site? You already have top billing for your main site. The best place for your 2nd site is the 2nd page at about the 12th or 13th position. We have a 2nd site too and noticed that the 2nd site generates more leads and hits when it's on the 2nd page rather than the first page at #7 or 8. Browsers don't really go down the list, they just jump to the next page I guess... that's my browsing habit anyways... good luck ... but I think you're positioned well for that site already... IMO
Good luck with the site, I`m sure it will all come good stick at it as its a long road.
Hi Julia,
Interesting point of view that I never really thought of. However, i believe most people are like me and rarely go to the 2nd page. I think I would rather have it on the first page. I'm really doing it more for diversification. Hate having all of my eggs in one basket.
I'm with you Marc, first page is where its at
. However, I have some sites that are on pages 8-10 that I'd love to have on page 2.
We are still early on the 3rd quarter. I think it would be great to have several different spots in the top 10. Seems like there is significantly less traffic lower than five. You are on page two here, but wow, what a great site link for your sarasotamls site.
Hi Marc,
I'm in the process of building a second REW site and I see where you're coming from. Whenever some business comes up, the site has to be put on hold. I only have one deal in escrow right now, although a few more should be coming up soon.
Your websites are top notch and I view them periodically for design ideas on my sites. It's great to come up with different webpage content and keywords to get a second website on a keyword search, hopefully picking up more customers.
Thanks for the compliment Mikey.
Mark,
Sorry I missed catching you in Boca for the Global Conference. There doesn't appear to be too many Sotheby's agents who are working at going further upstream by using the internet. I guess it is still a "blue ocean" for us
I am working on my two sites as well and you are one of the standard bearers I keep up with in our network.
Marc - you have had a string of REW's best designs...
I really liked your old site with the torn page edges. It was the site myself and many of the other agents over on the east coast all wanted when we started our REW sites.
Now, I use your new site as an excellent example of what REW can do with a custom design.
I have been watching your site - seems to bounce to page 1 # 3 position every few days and then back to page 2. Great reason not to be able to working on your site - 8 deals - if you were not SKY's top producer, you will be soon

Nice work, Marc. Selling real estate seems to be a continual problem when you have a website project.
Congratulations on the deals you have pending. Your website will be consistently at the top soon enough anyway.
