Off the coast of Sarasota, Florida sits the gorgeous barrier
island of Siesta Key. This 8 mile long island oasis is casual yet
sophisticated. People from all around the world visit Siesta Key.
Some of fun things to do on the island include walking along the
beach, taking a dip in the Gulf of Mexico, parasailing with your
family, enjoying a meal in one of the outdoor restaurants in the
Siesta Key village, boating in the waters around Sarasota or simply
just reading a good book while listening to the soothing waves.
Siesta Key beach was ranked the 2nd prettiest beach in the country
by Dr. Beach. The beach is made up of quartz so it feels refreshing
on your feet. Some people consider it total paradise. Don’t forget
the sunsets. The picturesque view of a Siesta Key sunset is not
easily forgotten.
Thinking of buying your own slice of paradise pie? Siesta Key is a
fabulous place to call home or to own winter/vacation getaway. The
winters in Sarasota, Florida are very pleasant. The weather is
usually dry and not very cold. Aside from the occasional cold snap
the weather is delightful. A good percentage of Siesta Key property
owners live somewhere else full time and enjoy the island during
the winter or for vacation
There are many real estate options on Siesta Key. You can find condos on the island ranging from a less expensive efficiency all the way to a mouthwatering penthouse overlooking the beach and water. If condo living is not your cup of tea there are also many single family home options. Currently prices are starting in the neighborhood of $250,000. That usually gets you an un-remodeled, older, smaller, non-waterfront home. You can also find a fabulous beach front estate in the Sanderling Club exceeding $10 million.

Bay Island is located on the north end of Siesta Key. Norsota Way is one of the finest streets in Sarasota. The views overlooking the Sarasota bay, Bird Key and downtown skyline are breathtaking. Other nice streets in this community include Flamingo, Higel, Freeling, and Anglin. The water here is deep so it can accommodate large boats. Access to Sarasota is extremely easy from the Bay Island subdivision as the north bridge is just outside the neighborhood. Currently, asking prices of homes for sale in Bay Island range from $399,900 to $15,000,000.

This is one of the few gated communities that offer beach front homes. Some of the nicest estates on the beach reside in the Sanderling Club. It is a big draw for those looking for a beach home yet wants easier access to Sarasota than Casey Key to the south. The beach was recently renourished along the Sanderling Club. Residents can walk for miles without running into someone. Current asking prices start at $675,000 for non beachfront homes. The homes on the beach start around $2,500,000 and go over $10,000,000.

This is a private enclave of homes on the south of the island. Point Crisp Road is located just off Midnight Pass Road south of Stickney Point. You could easily pass it without know it is there. This community of waterfront estates offers great views and boating water. Expect to spend several million dollars to purchase here.

Point of Rocks is located on the beach side of the island just south of Stickney Point Road. They call it Point of Rocks because of the rock formations on the beach. It is a great spot for snorkeling. If you walk to the southernmost point of Crescent beach you will see where Point of Rocks begins. Homes vary in this community. There are quaint beachfront homes as well as grandiose modern structures. Off the water you will find an eclectic mix of homes.

This Siesta Key waterfront community is located near the north end of Siesta Key. It offers canal front and bay front homes. The community on the east side of Midnight Pass road does not have a bridge to contend with. Residents there can have sailboats and larger yachts. On the west side of Midnight Pass the cana front homes have to go under a bridge limiting the moat size. Currently, asking prices of homes for sale in Siesta Bayside range from $999,000 to $2,795,000.

This is a popular community located mid island just south of Siesta Key village. Some of the street you will find in Siesta Isles include Contento, Cape Leyte, Shadow Lawn and Azure Way. There are many canal front homes in Siesta Isles. Boaters flock to this community as they offer a less expensive waterfront option. Currently, asking prices range from $420,000 to $1,795,000.

This is a community of some fabulous waterfront estates. Many of the bayfront homes have stunning views of the water. Many of the older structures were scraped to make way for newer, more modern abodes. Currently, asking prices range from $599,000 to nearly $10,000,000.
Condo living might be the way to go if you don’t want the maintenance of a single family home. Condos are also a more affordable option if you are trying to live on the beach. Siesta Key condos range from small and in need of remodeling to new multi-million dollar structures. Below you will find some of the nicer condo communities on Siesta Key

This is one of my favorite communities on Siesta Key beach. Palm Bay Club is maintained extremely well. It is a gulf to bay complex that allows short term rentals. Residents love the ability to rent their units out to generate extra income to offset some of the costs. There is an onsite rental office to manage guests.
Palm Bay Club is made up of a tower on the beach and six mid rise units. The tower condos have phenomenal views of Siesta Key beach and water. The mid rise units don’t have the same views however they are less expensive and are within a short walk to the beach, swimming pool and tennis courts. Currently, asking prices start at $349,000 and go to $949,000.

If you have visited Siesta Key before there is a good chance you may have stayed at the Sarasota Surf and Racquet. This is one of the more popular complexes on the island. It allows short term rentals so it attracts vacationers with its easy access to the beach, 2 swimming pools, a fitness center and 4 tennis courts. Currently, asking prices range from $425,000 to $1,099,000.

These are the two large condos buildings in the Siesta Key village. What a great place to live. Both buildings are within footsteps of fun restaurants, bars, shopping and Siesta Key beach. The condos have stunning water and beach views. If the idea of not using your car much appeals to you The Terrace and Terrace East might be the right place for you. Currently, asking prices range from $695,000 in the Terrace East to $1,285,000 in the Terrace.

This is the newest addition to the Siesta Key condo market. These are located just outside the village and across the street from the beach. These were constructed from 2008 to 2010. Ranging from 2 bedrooms/2 baths to 4 bedrooms/4 baths and 1 half-bath with expanded media rooms and stunning views of the Gulf from starlight roof terraces.

Siesta Gulf View is located directly on the beach offering each access as well as fabulous views of the water. Located directly on Beach Road it is not very far from the exciting Siesta Key Village where you can shop, eat and drink. The Siesta Gulf View building is parallel to the beach so all units have great views. Prices start around $700,000 for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with water and beach views.

This gulf to bay complex is made up of a midrise on the beach and free standing villas. The condos in the midrise on the beach have stunning views of the beach, Gulf of Mexico and swimming pool. Want to be near the beach but don’t want to be too close to your neighbors? Take a look at one of the free standing villas. There are no common walls and it feels like your very own little beach cottage. Currently, asking prices range from $429,000 to $699,000.
These are just a few of the great condo communities on Siesta Key.
