23rd Annual Sausalito Floating Homes Tour

I’ve always found home and garden tours to be fascinating.  I suppose that getting a little glimpse into how other people decorate their homes, tend their gardens, and live their lives gives me some sort of vicarious pleasure.  On September 29 Sausalito will host its 23rd Annual Floating Home Tour, which will provide a fascinating look into a unique lifestyle – and I, for one, am looking forward to it with great anticipation.

Sausalito has long been a thriving artist community, so it is little wonder that this creative spirit extends into Sausalito real estate.  While floating homes are not unique to Sausalito, they are an integral part of the city’s ambience.  For the free-spirited bohemians among you, some of Sausalito's floating homes are for sale, and the home tour will provide you with an excellent opportunity to have a good time and check out the territory!

Saturday’s tour promises to be loads of fun.  It begins at the Kappas Marina where you will find food, free entertainment, and an Art Show & Sale featuring work by several resident artists.  From there you can wander around the docks on this self-guided adventure and visit more than a dozen unique homes.  Some of the homes have been featured on past tours, but seven will be making their debut this year, keeping the experience new and fresh for those of you who have visited in the past.

So put on your boat shoes and head out to Sausalito. Enjoy the festivities and get to know a fascinating community.  Who knows?  Maybe I’ll see you there!

Tickets are $30 per person.
