Are town houses making a mark on Dubai property?

When you think about buying property in Dubai, most people limit their choices to villas or apartments.  While this is true for the most part, there has been a sudden increase in the number of town homes available on the market, which might be a good solution for families that want to live in a house, but don’t want the huge villa or the costs associated with a villa.

Most property investors are buying a property that meets all their standards, but is also a viable investment should they come to sell, and many people do.  This is a good reason to buy a town home, as they are still quite scarce even though their popularity is increasing.  Since a standard villa is much more common, not to mention the many apartment freehold developments, owning a town home means you have a unique selling point to buyers.  Recent property developments that have town homes are Jumeirah Village and Uptown Mirdiff.

Demand for town homes on the Dubai property market

It is not surprising that town homes are increasing in popularity, as earlier properties like Dubai Marina and the Palm Jumeirah all feature a limited number of them.  Particularly for Dubai Marina town homes at the base of the towers, there was a large amount of interest in buying these than there were available on the market, meaning the people who bought early and decided to sell made an excellent profit.  Town homes are appealing because they have the best features of both apartments and villas combined.  They are cheaper than the average villas, which are expensive on the booming Dubai property market, and they have more space indoors and outdoors than the average apartment.
