Palm Jebel AliIf you like the sound of the Palm Jumeirah and all it has to offer, then you are certainly going to be excited by its newest sibling, the Palm Jebel Ali. Developed by Nakheel, The Palm Jumeirah has proven so popular since first announced to the public way back in 2001, that Al Nakheel has since begun construction of two more Palm projects, of which the Palm Jebel Ali is the current focus. And if you are thinking that the Palm Jebel Ali is to just be a clone of its predecessor, then you would be wrong! It has a number of new features that make this perhaps the most interesting island of the Palm trilogy!

So what's the deal with this one then? Well to start with it's bigger than the Palm Jumeirah. Quite a lot bigger in fact! Developer Nakheel states it is currently set to be over 50% bigger than the Palm Jumeirah which isn’t exactly small! So this is going to be a rather large project. Whilst the bulk of property here is going to be along the same lines of the Palm Jumeirah, after all if it isn't broke why fix it, but will have the added feature of Waterhomes. These will be unique to the Palm Jebel Ali, and have become a major selling point for the project. On top of the water homes, there will of course be the already established and very popular Garden Homes, and Signature Villas. Apartment here will also follow the same format as before, and will be located on the trunk.

But it is the Waterhomes that are of most interest here. Built on stilts, and sitting over the water, these four bedroom luxury villas have a lot going for them. If being located on a palm shaped island wasn’t novel enough, the villas will also be layout out in such a way as to spell out a verse from a poem written by Dubai's ruler, Sheik Mohammed. The villas also come with their own private boat mooring as well! And to top everything off, the Palm Jebel Ali will also feature more in the way of entertainment facilities and hotels, truly making it a great place to live. The only problem is completion isn’t looking likely until 2012, but I'm sure you will agree, it's worth waiting for!
