Burj Dubai Dizzy Heights!!

The Latest news from Emaar is that the Burj Dubai is set to be even taller than anticipated. With the recent announcement that there will be around a eight to nine month delay on the release of the project, now expected in the third quarter of 2009, this is obviously down to the newly planned upgrades of floors and interiors. While the Burj Dubai’s final height has been a much-guarded secret since the beginning of its construction, many people had thought that the tower had reached its peak already. With this latest announcement, Emaar are looking to garner more attention for this record-breaking tower, to account for the delays in schedule.
It is expected that there will be an additional two communication floors added to the current number of floors completed. Work has already taken place on the external cladding of the tower so this adjustment to the earlier plans has made the engineer’s job a little bit more difficult. The reasoning behind these major adjustments is due to the initial plans being made in 2004, and now, four years on, property investors expect better. Standing at 636 meters already, and with the largest number of floors of any building in the world, will two more make much of a difference?
The other major adjustment that has previously been cited as the major cause of long delays is the interior on the Burj Dubai. With original designs from 2004, again, these ideas have been updated to meet the levels of quality and luxury of 20087 and 2009. It is essential for the units within the building to meet very high expectations, and with the newadjustments that will take place over the next year; investors will be getting a better finish in their apartments. The Burj Dubai is not the first icon of Dubai to undergo such a huge overhaul. The Burj Al Arab, Dubai’s seven star hotel in the middle of the Arabian Sea, also suffered delays during its construction due to a complete change of interiors. With the Burj Dubai set to be finished around October next year, property investors will be eagerly awaiting to see if the delays make a difference.
