Thailand has always been a hugely popular tourist destination, with people from all around the globe coming to enjoy this beautiful country. In the past years Thailand’s popularity has continued to grow and grow, and now many people are looking to the country as somewhere to call home or own a second property. Few places can offer the standard of living and lifestyle that is found throughout Thailand. Brilliant weather, great beaches and scenery, legendary hospitality and cheap prices all come together to produce a destination where people keep wanting to come back to.
And it is for these reasons that so many foreigners are now looking to own a property in Thailand and particularly in the Isaan North East region. This is mainly due to the fact that many expats or "farangs" as they are better known locally end up marrying or entering into a relationship with a lady from Thailand. Building or buying a home in Isaan is somewhat of a daunting task with many pitfalls you have to be aware of. Some of the provinces you might consider settling in are Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Chaiyaphum, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Korat, Loei, Maha Sarakham, Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom, Nong Khai, Nongbua Lamphu, Roi Et, Sakon Nakhon, Sisaket, Surin, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani and Yasothon.
Whilst Thailand already has a good range of homes and villas from which to pick, it is also worth considering building your own property here. Whilst initially this may sound like a lot more hard work than purchasing an already completed home, it is not all that complicated and comes with numerous benefits over purchasing a ready completed property. Land in Thailand is not hard to come by, with large areas in and around places such as Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui all available for development.
The price of land will depend on which area of Thailand you wish to purchase in and its proximity to the near by cities and beaches, but in general it is not overly expensive despite prices being on the rise the past few years. However the investment potential for such an undertaking is huge. With a ready supply of skilled labor available throughout the country and an abundance of building supplies stores, everything you need to convert your patch of land into your dream home is readily available.
And not only can you decide what the layout and design of your home should be like in order to guaranty everything matches your requirements perfectly, but after land and building costs, the value of your home will significantly more that your initial investment. In most cases the value of your development will be almost double the money it cost to purchase the land and build the home. So whilst developing land in Thailand may initially seem more time consuming and difficult this really isn’t the case and both in terms of the quality of home you will end up with and financially, it makes very good sense. Land development is a very lucrative business, and very few places offer better opportunities that Thailand at present. With a little research and care, you can easily own a dream villa in a truly majestic country, and all whilst securing a great investment for yourself.
