Amazing isn´t it. A husband and wife, both regarded as Russian oligarchs are about to construct the largest property in London second only to Buckingham Palace, at an approximate total cost of £100m.

The already massive house of  Witanhurst, purchased for a mere £50m will be reformed, encorporating an underground network of rooms and will therefore be one of the largest basements in the UK.  Although the purchase of the house was through a British Virgin Islands company, The Times newspaper has heard through their sources that the owner is Yelena Baturina and her husband Yuri Luzhkov, the current mayor of Moscow.

There have been some architects plans given to Camden council  for many rooms to be made underneath the house including a cinema, pool, a beauty parlour and a massive garage with a 24 car capacity, there will also be a lift to take the cars up to street level. The cost of this subtle renovation will be another £50m!
