La Zagaleta - Art Exhibition in Contemporary Villa

I was invited to a truly great art exhibition in the La Zagaleta Golf and Country Club on Saturday night showcasing Chinese contemporary art, courtesy of the Poligono Gallery in Marbella. The setting was a contemporary villa offered for sale by the team at La Zagaleta and proved to be an excellent environment to display some of the amazing artwork. The house, with its clean lines and large spacious rooms, was a massive hit with those that were lucky enough to attend.

The property has six bedrooms and is spread over a massive 14,000 square feet, with a palatial living room that allows you to enjoy some of the most exciting sea views. The interesting thing about this property is the lack of maintenence required in the outside areas, even though the plot is over 69,000 square feet. The flow from the lounge area to the decked pool is seamless and will deliver true contemporary living to its prospective owner. The bathrooms in the villa are also truly outstanding, with stand alone baths and large, beautifully crafted shower facilities. The bedrooms also offer great space and dressing areas, the artwork displayed in the master suite worked particularly well.

I discovered an interesting, little known fact about the previous owners of the estate that evening. Before the development belonged to Adnan Khashoggi, it was owned by Henry Roussell, the French pharmaceutical industrialist who became the father in law of the late Cristina Onassis. You can see why the estate has been owned by some of the most prominent business figures in the world, as few other locations can offer such great natural beauty and feeling of space.
