Guest Post from Brian McReynolds, MaryAnn's Webmaster:
One rule that you will find in many how-to blogging articles is to never acknowledge an extended absence from posting. Easier said than done when the post directly below this one is decorated with Holiday ornaments in July. As MaryAnn's editor and webmaster, I maintain a list of blogging topics that we continually update as an idea strikes us. The list of posts to be written has overflowed and MaryAnn is nowhere to be found. It has been my duty in the past to help with research and to set artificial deadlines to keep the posts flowing but even these tactics haven't worked and I really can't complain.
A frazzled MaryAnn recently summed the situation up for me perfectly: "Do you want blog posts or do you want contracts?" she politely asked when I brought up the subject of updating her blogs. A victim of her own success, MaryAnn has been working around the clock the past few months selling homes, her business literally exploding due to the organic web exposure that her site has attained. Exposure which comes a great deal from --blogging. I tried to prepare MaryAnn for the new business that I hoped her site would generate, and while the traffic and registration stats are surely small in comparison to many larger sites in more populated markets it has been more than enough to keep her swamped. I am continually astounded at the quality and loyalty of the people that contact MaryAnn, ready to buy or list.
Conducting property searches until the early morning and showing homes all day while burning through two cell batteries, MaryAnn clearly needed more help. We recently made the decision that I would have to leave my 20+ year telecomm career to assist her full-time with her enormous workload and so I could also manage our 9 and 7 year old sales associates. We are streamlining processes and catching up quickly so hopefully soon MaryAnn will be able to resume her normal blogging activities. Our sincere thanks goes out to Morgan and the REW community for providing such an incredible resource to learn about online real estate marketing, we owe all of our recent success to you!
