The Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) is going to upgrade to a new and enhanced MLS system called MLXchange. Originally scheduled for installation in December 2006, the new installation date is now April 2007. This extension will help to ensure a smooth transition among all of the systems that “talk” to the MLS like MAARdata, Homes for Sale™ and SentriLock.
The long and short of it is this will be a much better system. From integration and custom-ability to a much higher level of service capabilities for the general consumer. There will be a test period and then full integration.

MLXchange is not all that great, not the best and not the worst we work with them a lot. You do realize this will mean some recoding for existing custom MLS users right? Question: what is wrong with the current system?
HMmmmmmm. back in the beginning Seth made mention that he was having us use the RHETS because we were changing over. So, we still need to do some coding? Interesting. Not a full blown re-do, though? What was wrong with the old system? I just had my first meeting after being elected to the MLS Board, so I am not 100% sure. I do know that the main discussion seemed to be on integrating all our systems together. MAAR Data, Homes for Sale™ and SentriLock, and the new website that is coming online for the magazine. I am guessing that was the driving issue.

Very interesting to hear that Memphis is going to a new system. I'll be curious to how that works and if the Nashville MLS will taking notice .
