Help to Avoid Foreclosure for Homeowners in Lexington KY

The grant, announced recently at a press conference in Lexington, KY by Community Ventures Corporation, will be administered through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati. Residents of Lexington, Georgetown, Lawrenceburg, Nicholasville, Paris, Versailles and Winchester as well as many other Kentucky cities will need to meet certain income requirements; those that do will be eligible to receive up to $3,500.
People who own residential real estate in the Lexington KY area who would like to be considered for the "Preserving the American Dream" grant must apply through Lexington's Community Ventures Corporation and take a credit counseling class. The grant program is a voluntary program whereby FHLB of Cincinnati will set aside $2 million in private money for grants. Republic Bank & Trust of Louisville, Central Bank of Lexington, Farmers Bank & Trust in Georgetown, Kentucky Bank of Paris, Liberty Alliance Federal Credit Union in Lexington will help identify homeowners who need assistance.
