BAREIS Allows REO Listings on Public Sites

The Bay Area Real Estate Information Services, Inc. has contacted all of its members and BAREIS MLS Vendors to inform them of an exciting new development in the area of REO listings for public display. Here is what the MLS had to say:

Recently there have been many inquiries by vendors and agents alike in regards to adding REO/Foreclosure’s to IDX website search criteria, as well as inquiries in regards to building REO/Foreclosure IDX websites. Up until now, we have not allowed sale conditions to be displayed publically. Due to the high volume of requests, it has been discussed by the BAREIS MLS Board of Directors and we are now going to allow public sites to add REO/Foreclosure’s  to the search criteria and/or allow an agent or broker to have an REO/Foreclosure ONLY site.

This only covers REO, and not “In Foreclosure”, “Notice of Default” and “Short Sale” as this would be publicly displaying the seller's current financial situation.
