Too Busy To Sell - Discounted Hours Available
Posted Jul 15, 2008 @ 6:13 pm, Viewed by 753 Visitors, Read 1265 Times.Update, both design and programming hours are now sold out. Thank you to everyone who purchased
It's always the way isn't it? You get busy getting busy and all of sudden you realize you have neglected some of the things you are "supposed" to be doing.
For me it's sales - I have been so busy this month with the conference in September, developing some new products and planning my wedding (Mid August for those that were going to ask) that I have neglected my sales duties a little bit.
The end result - For the first time in a long time it looks like we are not going to sell out all production hours this month, in fact it looks like we are about 500 or so short in both programming and writing. (Only about 200 in design they are still pretty busy)
What to do - Well romantically I would love to say, I'll just pick up the phone and start selling, but realistically I don't have time. So I guess my loss is your gain.
Here's the deal - For the month of July only, I am going to sell off the projected hours that I would normally sell myself at a discounted rate of $75 USD per hour. (A 25% discount) This way I don't have to take time away from the conference, or wedding planning and we still manage to keep everyone busy for the whole month.
What's available:
500 hours programming at $75 per hour (25% discount) (SOLD OUT!)
500 hours writing at $75 per hour (25% discount) (Almost gone)
200 Design hours at $75 per hour (25% discount) (SOLD OUT!)
The last time I did this was the xmas sale and way more hours were purchased than this in a very short time frame, and as with that promo, it is first come first serve, so make sure you act fast!
Some rules: (There are always rules)
This is for new work only - (That is the point) these hours cannot be applied to existing projects or outstanding invoices.
Some pre-emptive answers to questions:
I don't know what I want or need right now but I know a deal when I see one: Their discounted hours credited to your account, use them for whatever you want (Preferably in July) and you don't need to say what you are using them for, you can buy now and we can advise you as to their best use at your request. They will sell out fast, so I advise that you don't wait until you know what you want to do with them or they will be gone.
How many hours can I buy? Is there a limit? Is there a minimum? You can buy all of them if you want, but let's be fair, and only try to purchase what you feel you will use within a few months, that way everyone can get in on the discount. There is a minimum purchase and that is 5 hours.
Is there a time limit? Technically it would be any time in July, however it is first come first serve, and when they are gone, they are gone and I do expect them to sellout probably within the first 5 days or so.
I have an existing estimate and invoice and haven't pulled the trigger, does this qualify? Absolutely! We were wondering where you went :) - Get the order in and you end up with a 25% discount on something you were going to order anyways.

I assume programming can go towards a new IDX or transfer of a site to REW?
That would be a good idea, yes - post as many details as possible, keep in mind though, it is first come first serve, and I have already received several orders sinse posting (And the billing dept isn't even open right now)
And thanks for the congrats - it's been a long time coming (We have the kids, the 2 vehicles, the house etc, just never did the dance - it's about time.)
FindCRE - It can go towards anything NEW (As in is not already in the project management system) - so yes, a new IDX, transfer of a site - those sorts of things would all qualify.
Cool, add me for 20 hours of programming.
FindCRE - You got it Buddy
Ok so there are like 375 programming hours left, just so every knows. (What was that like 30 mins lol)
Hi Morgan,
I am in for our Saint Paul site but need to email someone an example of what I want in a word doc. Let me know who I should send it to. Thanks Matt
Hey Matt,
I think Craig is technically your rep but I am working late tonight trying to play catch up, so if you want to send it to me (I assume you have my email) then I can give you an estimate if that is required before purchase. Hit me up if you have any questions
Cheers (Nice to hear from you btw, been a while, hope all is well)
Hey Morgan:
I know the LEC and color mods are out of the picture
but the other pieces - small IDX tweaks, font stuff etc...do those still qualify? Thanks!
Kevin
Yeah it couldn't go to anything already purchased (LEC is a good example) but if you have other tweaks you wanted to be quoted on that are not yet ordered, it could most certainly be used for any of that additional customization.
20 hours please. Will advise work needed ro discuss with you. Probably 10-hours programming, 10-hours design.(?)
Let's get the current project finished up on dev 133 / dev 19 before using these new hours.
So, these new hours will probably be in August for backend improvements, updates of some sort.... or you can have someone run with finishing up dev60 as I need to get this one on-line as it is on the back burner and needs some work!
Morgan,
You just quoted me 5 hours on the directory install on my agent site. I will take the deal on that if it applies and dicsounted hours are still available.
Great promotion, thanks a lot.
- Lou
Thanks Morgan - little embarrassed to say I'm not sure what elements I gave the green light
. Should I check with check with Holly? Then can I order hours through her?
I'll take the 5 hours you quoted me yesterday on the directory install for my agent site, if it applies and the discount hours are available.
Great promotion Morgan, thanks a lot
- Lou
OCTEAM - http://dev19.rewtemplates.com/ is actually pretty much ready to go, we will want to swap an email or two about what links to stick in the footer, but other than that, I am just clicking through both IE 7 and FF, and things appear to be as I would like them -
If you notice anything significant that would prohibit flipping the switch let me know, otherwise Hartanov Team 3.0 can go live
I think the other project you referenced was the SOCAL sold data project, and I honestly don't know much about that one, I will have to check in with Aaron on that. Btw - your order has been submitted.
Well that is fricking exciting news.....I'll put together an email about dev19.
The sold data needs to be incorporated into dev19. I will email idea about that as well.
Thanks for submitting for my perpetual invoice...
BTW Kevin, I didn't forget about you, and I have good news (At least I think I do) when you decided to switch the LEC, my recommendation was to get just the custom color change done, and go with the LEC out of the box to get that part done first, then after we had your content mirgrated (Which we do now) and we figured out how we wanted to make our adjustements etc, then we could talk about add ons - so basically anything you would want as an add on / additional items would qualify for the discount
Morgan - Awesome, you're saving me money by the minute here! I'm thinking that the "SEO tweaks" I've touched on may require some of Gerry's copywriting genius (Gretchen's getting tired of writing!) so could we go with 25 hours please? Thanks, Morgan...
- K
I am not sure that is possible (I can certainly sell the writing hours) but the Gerry part is a bit of a challenge - I just promoted Gerry to senior management - he has gone from (Senior editor / team lead for writing dept) to (Production manager) - We do have like 9 other staff writers or something like that - would you be willing to settle on one of them
(I shouldn't gest like that, they are all very good at what they do, and any one of them would take extra good care of you)
If it can't be Gerry are we still on?
Yes sir! Full steam ahead! I know you guys are all pros. Just so we're on the same page, it can be a combo of writing, programming, and design right?
And a public congratulations to Gerry...he deserves it!
Thanks Morgan,
- K
This is a great deal! I will email you the details for my order. Thanks Morgan!!
Morgan - I would like to book 80 hours for Waterfront Properties
and 10 hours for my site.
Thanks
Actually - please make it 100 hours for Waterfront Properties. We need some design time too.
Thanks for the great deal Morgan! Sign me up for 15 hours.
Hey Morgan, just sent you an e-mail with the details and I requested 15 hours of programming and 5 hours of design.
Wow David 100 hours THANKS (This is why you are our top reseller) - I didn't really get a breakdown from you my friend, how should I allocate the hundred (There are limited hours available, so i kind of need to know within a few hours what I have sold because i don't want to oversell either - Holly has been informed of your order Thanks again!
SCP - (Shane Pollock yes?) 15 hours it is (And thank you) - any ideas on programming / writing / design?
20 hours for you Eddy (Mr Kicker
) I'll send it over to Holly right now
Thank you sir (I need to take a breath and do a Talley, I am probably pretty close to sold out, and I just woke up a half hour ago) Seriously guys thanks for coming through!
Hi Morgan,
Please reserve 5 hours of each; programing / design / writing for a total of 15 hours. I have a short list of projects I've been wanting to get done so this is perfect timing.
Thank you!
Thank you Brian, email sent to billing
Waterfront Properties
70 hours programming
20 hours design
10 hours writing
Dave Abernathy - ocean30 sites
10 hours programming
SCP = Shane Pollock. I sent you a PM with details.
Morgan
I would like to purchase 6 hours of your time but am not sure how to divide it most effectively. Should i split between programming and writing or focus on one? Please advise, but put me down for 6

I will take 5 hours of Programming, please!
Hey Morgan, another good deal I can't pass up. I called to get an appointment with you to discuss my ideas. Right now I don't know how many hours will be needed. I guess make it a tentative 20 hrs. until we talk.. Thanks,
Dennis are you still around or is to late to call you back (Sorry crazy busy) - I can call you now if you like.
You can call me up till midnight
Your time or mine?
pacific
Ummmm I think I will need your number my friend
I'm not on your speed dial man. lol, 541-844-9287
Change in plans sorry, I can't call - wife just got home with the little one, and she wants to watch the wiggles before she goes to sleep (Should have been in bed an hour ago
)
Can we get an update on how many hours are left?
600 hours invoiced - I don't have the exact breakdown of which went where yet, but I will soon - based on what I put through (Which is most of them) it is probably 40% design 40% programming and 20% writing which would basically mean design is sold out (But again I need to check)
Now that is invoiced - but some of those hours are not paid - Guys this is first come first serve, and saying "I want them" does not reserve them for you, you need to fax back your CC auth if you want those hours spoken for. Especially for those that bought design hours, if you have not sent in your payment yet, I suggest you do it today, or you will loose the discounted hours.
Quick update guys, Design time is completely sold out - those who have not submitted their invoices, I am sorry but the design portion of the special is now closed.
hey morgan.. I had asked if you could advise me on how best to utilize my hours purchased. Did you reserve some design hours for me?
You're all good Nancy
(Assuming you paid your invoice as it was first come first served)
A quick note to everyone, both design and programming hours are completely sold out - there are a little under 200 writing hours left. Then we are done (Should sell out by tomorrow morning)
Those that placed your orders thank you very much - those that missed out, I am sorry we do have a limit of available labor to discount.
Thanks again everyone!
I knew it would not take long. Glad I paid up before the Sun went down.
And thank you very much Mike - Actually the design and programming hours were sold out before your order (You put me way over) but because of the size of your project and the fact that it is several month build I was still able to accomodate it.
Morgan,
I hope all is well. I would like to add a our 1800 number. replace the 365-4908 number found on the main page with 1866-752-2228 toll free.
Plus the following:
1. I would like to have one article on foreclosures. Let me know if this will work well with current SEO. thanks!
Questions: i have not gotten any leads since Saturday. do you know why this may be?
John, thanks for your comment, however it isn't really the right place to be posting this sort of thing. This blog post and it's comments are related to a promotion that was run last week (Which is now over) - if you would like to submit a request for estimate or order changes for your website please observe REW guidelines outlined here http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/csr/ordering-new-work.php
As for your question about leads - I have no idea, not really my realm, I am not in customer service - if you feel there may be an issue to report, you may call 250-753-9893 9-5 pacific standard time, monday to friday or post on the customer support forums 24-7 http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/rew-customer-support-forums.html
Thanks
Morgan,
Thanks man! New at this forum stuff....
Not a problem John, happy to help. Thanks again
Morgan,
In case anyone who had ordered changed their mind, I would like 30+ hours. If not I understand. Thanks.
Noone changed their mind - sorry. However I have considered extending this offer for the month of August for those who are attending the REW summit. I will post about that later today.
Morgan,
How many hours if any are left for writing?
Dave
Quite a few actually, that is the only portion that didn't sell out - maybe 200 ish?
Let's talk when you have a chance - I would be happy to use more of your writing hours also.
Dave
You got it bud
- Btw I will be running an extended promo for those REW customers attending the conference - I am off to post about that now.
Here you go David (And the rest of you who wished they hadn't missed out on the promo, or wanted to purchase even more hours) an extended promo for our customers attending the REW summit. http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/blogs/morgan-carey/5821/show/
Burning the midnight hours again - you and your team are always working!
Dave
Morgan,
I have few ideas i want to run by you. When will it be a good time to talk about it?
John, with my wedding and conference planning, I am really backed up, I took a look at our files and it turns out I am actually not even your rep. What I would suggest is that you contact your rep Craig Matty he would be more than happy to assist you with anything you require, and his availability should be a lot better than mine.
Thanks
John, I would be happy to have a chat with you about your needs, give me a call or send me an email and we can go from there. I'm at 250-753-9893 9-5 Monday to Friday (Pacific Standard) or you can email me at craig @realestatewebmasters.com

OK this sounds great Morgan! Congratulations on pulling the trigger on Marriage!
Before I purchase, I have an idea for a project and need to know how much time you estimate it to be, should I go to the Work order forum to get an estimate?
