Promo - Graduated (up to 50%) discounts and a new (very special) LEC!
Posted Feb 6, 2009 @ 5:15 pm, Viewed by 2600 Visitors, Read 3522 Times. This promotion is now closed - Thank you for your patronage
I haven't done a promotion since November and apparently everyone is wondering when I will do the next one. My answer is usually, "When I have something new that I want to promote", such as when we did the LEC 2 kickoff – so it's been a few months. But guess what, folks - it's time!
So what's the occassion?
Well I have finished a new LEC so I think that warrants a promo, don't you? :)
This newest limited edition custom is very special to me as it is inspired by our fallen TheSarasotaMLS.com premier custom, which was hijacked by the Sarasota Association of Realtors - and 25% of the proceeds of any sales of this new LEC will go towards helping my good friend and client Marc Rasmussen of LuxurySarasotaRealEstate.com to get back on his feet after a very exhausting and financially draining battle for trying to get his domain back.
This new LEC has all the bells and whistles of previous LEC's and even has some cool new tweaks that make it stand out, but this post is about a promotion, not this LEC, so you will have to post your questions here in the blog or contact your sales rep if you would like to learn more (I will be blogging about the features as soon as I get a chance as well) - Either way, check it out, it's cool: dev136.rewtemplates.com
So what's the promo then? "Graduated?" How does it work?
Well, you start with 5, then 5 becomes 10 and 10 becomes 15 and 15 becomes 20, etc - all the way to 50 (this is where it stops btw) - "What?????"
Gimme a break – it's hard to come up with creative ideas for promos, c'mon now :) - Seriously though, here's the deal:
From a very robust list of our current products (templates, LEC's, CORE IDX's and much more... a full list is below) you can automatically get a 5% discount on any "NEW" orders. (This is NOT RETROACTIVE - there is always one person who asks during every promo, so I have to put this in on every promo - it applies to new orders only.) So, pick one item from the list and you get a 5% discount.
Now here is where it becomes graduated.
Pick 2 items from the list and add another 5% (on both items!). So let's say you were going to buy a template (you would get a 5% discount) and you then add a blog – not only will you get a 10% discount on the blog install, but also on the template setup. Template is $740 and Blog is $300 btw, so your normal cost is $1040 but because you bought 2 items you get a 10% discount on the total, so you get $104 off – not too shabby, but let's see what happens if you order even more.
Let's get serious
Let's say you decide to order the new LEC (which btw retails at $8000 USD) and you want to also add: An agent roster module $500 (because you are a medium to large sized brokerage), streetview $500, birds eye view $300, custom rewrite manager $200, and a Google Directions module $300. That is a total of 6 items which would mean your discount on the sum total is 30% – now let's do the math and calculate the savings:
Normal retail price: $9800 USD Booooo!
After 30% discount - $6860 USD - you save $2940 Yeahhhh!!!
What's being offered during this promo?
The following items are available and qualify for the graduated promotional rate: (To a maximum of 50% discount)
Website options:
- LEC 1 $8000
- LEC 2 $10,000
- LEC 3 $8000
- REW Template $740
IDX & Enhancements
- CORE IDX $2500
- Featured Listings module $300
- Quick search module $300
- XML / HTML Sitemapping $500
- Google Directions $300
- Birds Eye View $300
- Control Panel $1000
- Google Streetview $500
Blogging items
- REW 2.0 Blog $300
- Blog RSS snippet $100
Misc items
- 301 Redirect Manager $200
- Agent Roster Module $500
Alert: Writing time bonus!
Unfortunately no custom time is available during this promotion due to the fact that (as usual) our custom department (programming and design) is pretty much booked solid. However, I talked to the writing department and they said they have some room to kick in some hours for the promo, so here is your writing bonus:
Based on whatever discount you achieve 5%, 15%,50% - you will be able to purchase writing hours at that same discount level (as many as you like) as long as they are purchased within 5 business days of your discount order.
Rules and conditions of promotion:
- First come, first served (as always). Once February's production schedule is sold out, the promo will end.
- You must have your invoice "paid" in order to reserve your spot in the production queue.
- You must have any outstanding invoices / balances paid prior to purchasing promotional items.
- Promo offer is valid for "new" work orders (cannot be retroactively applied to any current orders).
- Standard hosting fees apply for REW websites / IDX.
- Promotion expires Friday, Feb 20th, or at 200 orders.
Promotions always sell out fast, folks (those of you who have missed out in the past already know this) and LEC's are going even quicker (I had a guy miss his LEC 2.0 purchase by 1 day - remember they are only 1 per market area) so you NEED TO GET YOUR ORDERS IN FAST!
Please DO NOT email me directly or schedule a call, these promo's always keep me way too busy to provide one-on-one consulting with these items and besides, they are all products so there really isn't anything "custom" to discuss. But as always, if you do have questions, then by all means ask them – but please do so below in the comments section of this blog. You may also place your order here as well, however if you are assigned to another of our sales reps, I encourage you to contact them directly with your questions and orders as they will be able to service you faster than I will in most cases.
Happy new year and enjoy! (I am now off to take the entire REW staff bowling – wish me luck)

Could I be pointed to some screenshots of the agent roster module? Is this the module that round robins the leads among agents? If so, are they able to limit to areas they work and deactivate themseleves when extermely busy or out of town?
Morgan can you tell us what the LEC 2 has (or doesn't have) for instance from the IDX Enhancements you listed:
What already comes standard in the LEC 2?
Thanks.
Hey guys - if you go to our upgrades section http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/upgrades/ you can see screenshots of all of these items and they have writeups / explanations as well.
Richard - Control Panel info is here: http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/upgrades/cms-modules.php
Cal - can't seem to find one on the agent roster module but I can write it for you now and show you an example live as well.
Here is a live example: http://www.boulderco.com/agents.php - What it does is automatically generates an agent directory within your website based on agents entered via the REW 2.0 lead manager.
The display randomizes through last names so each letter gets it's fair share of the main agents page, and then of course users can click on different letters to get a list of agents with that last name letter -
Finally agents are listed very much like real estate listings, there is a summary (search results) view as well as a detailed page view (example http://www.boulderco.com/agents.php?aid=64) and the agents themselves can edit / manage this page themselves (update their photo, writeups etc)
Hope that helps.
As for your other questions Cal - no there is no out of the box round robin plugin that has all the features you mention - that sounds pretty cool, but also sounds quite custom - feel free to request an estimate in the work orders forum if you would like something like that developed for you
thanks
Mike great LEC 2.0 questions, I have been working on a page to answer just that - you can preview it here http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/lec/index2.php
But I can answer here as well:
The LEC 2.0 already comes with (out of the box with no custom orders required)
- Custom skinned blog
- quick search
- featured listings
- control panel
- Blog RSS
- Way past CORE IDX
It does not come with streetview, google directions, birdseye etc, those are custom add on's that can be ordered if they are available in your area (they are not available everywhere in the case of streetview for instance)
I'm looking forward to my appt with Ryland on Monday for my new website. Guess I've go lucky timing!! Now I'l have to ask how he bowled? Did any one of you get a Turkey? C-ya monday, Lenni
Lol - Bowling is not until 6 PM (It's only 4:47 here) but if Ryland ends up coming (he has young ones so not always an easy feat) I will let you know
Thanks Morgan, I think Ryan has an old quote requesting what I want. I will reference it in work orders.
Morgan - Congrats on the new LEC. It looks really nice!
Where can we find info on LEC 3?
http://dev136.rewtemplates.com - if you would like to view the demo site I have setup
What specifically would you like to know?
Can you do a brief comparison of what modules are built into LEC 3 vs. the upcoming LEC 4, particularly the IDX modules?I read the page referenced earlier, but it was mainly talking about LEC 1 vs. LEC 2. I'm just wondering if I might be better off paying the extra $2,000 for LEC 2 or 4. The mapping is not allowed in my area so that part is out in any case. Also, do any LECs offer color options built in? Thanks.
Bruce
Sure Bruce,
All LEC's offer the same base elements (LEC 1,2,3 all have):
Custom design
Custom skinned Blog
Extremely Custom IDX (way past CORE)
Quick Search
Featured Listings Module
RSS feed onsite syndication
Refine Search Application
Now LEC 2 and LEC 3 also have the control panel (normally a $1000 upgrade)
LEC 2 (but not 1 or 3) has a more robust quick search (6 search types as opposed to 1)
LEC 2 also has 6 search types on it's advanced search whereas LEC 1 and 3 have the standard 4 search types included in CORE.
LEC 2 also has a few more complex moving pieces (like the local area index etc)
LEC 4 I am not prepared to discuss in detail at this point as I have not decided on all features that will be included, also I am a good 2 months from being finished that one (although I have finished mocking it up and you can see it here: http://comps.rewdev.com/limited_edition-custom_4/lec-4_mockup_2c.html)
Now as for your question regarding custom color schemes or options.
LEC 1,2 and 3 are "as is" meaning they come with the colors and options you see in the demo, they do not have alternates and they DO NOT include custom color time or work.
Why? Because custom work is variable (every customer is different) we can confirm this through the many custom color jobs we have done on the LEC's - some come in at 8-10 hours, some come in at 15-20 it really depends on how picky the customer is, how well they communicate, how many times they change their mind etc - so when it comes to "custom" it will always be billed by the hour - we just quite simply are not going to open ourselves up to that kind of liability.
That being said - we may decide in LEC 4 (definitely not for 3) to do a few corporate color schemes (RE/MAX, KW, Sotheby's etc) so there might be "options" but they still will not include any "custom" time - you will just pick one (but again this is not decided yet)
Hope that helps.
Registrations up 450% since my LEC2 website became live. I've gone from 4-5 registrations a day to 20+. It's nutz but in a good way. Trying to hire some buyer agents so I can focus on calling registrants versus showing property....Having the listings as content on the webpages absolutely compels visitors to register! The IDX is essential and its snippets.
Play around with <a href="http://www.justnewlistings.com">Arlington homes for sale</a> to see what I mean and what it's potential is.
Thanks for the LEC 2.0 testimonial, but would have been more credible if you didn't try to drop an anchor text link hehe
Btw - congrats on the increased leads btw - I hope it keeps up for you
Is logo design included in the promo?
Is the following correct?
- Core IDX = $2500
- New Template = $740
- Featured Listing = $300
- Quick Search Module = $300
- Google Directions = $300
- Birds Eye = $300 .....There is a pattern forming ; )
- REW Blog 2.0 = $300
- Blog RSS snippet = $100
- XML / HTML site mapping = $500
- Google Streetview = $500
- Total of $5840
10 items equals 50% off, so billable total for products is $2,920 ?
That is exactly right Ed
- the only other thing to consider is hosting fees, but because you are an existing customer you already know about those
Shane - no, sorry custom design work is not included in the promo - it is only the selections listed in the product list in the blog above.
Super sweet. Love the new LEC
I've always loved Mark's old site (even though his new one trumps it).
The text link was not intended for link juice--it was intended to make it easy for people to go sell themselves on the product. Otherwise how were they going to find the site without googling my name. The REW blog does not have a link to my website that is obvious--at least I've never been able to find REW blog author's websites on their REW blogs. I'm past the point of being desperate for link juice.
Their signature and/or website are at the bottom of every blog post. You just have to click "Read full post"
I know Jay,
I was just giving you a hard time because of the attempted anchor text drop - even when you are not trying to, you are always thinking link building (you can probably blame me for that) - For those that want to check out Jay's site it's http://www.justnewlistings.com
What about press release?
Press release? Sorry I don't understand what you are asking. Press release is not in our list of modules (you can see what is offered on the promo above if you read the blog post) - that being said, you can get a discount on writing hours (based on whatever you purchase) and our writing team can put together a press release for you if you like (you are gerally going to be looking at around 5 hours for a standard press release I would say)
Vero Beach Florida is now gone for LEC 3 btw - (just for anywhere who is keeping track lol)
Morgan,
You are Killing Me!! I have always loved Marc's site and the new LEC is everything I want.
I'm just wondering though... have you ever considered allowing current clients to upgrade to the newest and coolest REW sites without having a sense that they are starting over in price?
Just a thought... I kind of feel that anybody can get the same thing just by signing up as a new client with REW without even having an REW site when some of us have been long time clients/fans...
What about a promotion where longtime REW clients are rewarded and encouraged to upgrade?
For example...Spent a $1,000 in the past, get 10% off... $2,000 get 20% off of the new LEC... etc.. etc..
Just a thought... I'm now going to go pawn off some stuff to sign up..
Ok Paul tell you what (this is for you and for you only)
Instead of this promo - You can take your entire expenditure from 2008 (cash receipts only and with the expeption of hosting) and apply it as a direct credit against the purchase of an LEC at full price.
Damn that's what I'm talking about!
LOL!!
Ok.. Let me go through and track down all of these receipts and see how this all stacks up in comparison to the promotion. (Something tells me I will need to get the foot out of my mouth.)
Tried to pawn off one of my cars... they have no money.
I guess I have to run down to The Rio tonight and do some stripping since the Banks don't want to approve/close any of my Las Vegas short sales.
We'll see how that works out...
Hey Paul, I have enough receipts so we can each get an LEC for full price, lets do this! haaa
I still have day dreams about that sweet looking LEC4
Hey Mike sorry dude the offer was for Paul only (it was kind of a half joke)
If he crunches the numbers on his particular account it comes out to almost exactly the same as the discount on the promo if you buy an LEC and a couple of extra items heh)
Speaking from experience, guys, having just switched an older site over to an LEC, you'll have plenty of work to do to get it where you want it to be. All these LEC sites are great! You need to get out of the candy store and go back to work...LOL. Don't lose site of the fact that the best site is the one that generates leads....and they will all do that. Just wait until you see the LEC6....
LEC 6? Shoot I thought I was keeping that one under wraps still haha - Btw Drew your http://www.guidetolocalrealestate.com is one of the best customer setup LEC 2's that I have seen - awesome job brother!
I agree.. OCTeam has the best use of the slide show to date! Great site
Oh trust me I know you were joking Morgan! lol and yeah Drews site(s) is awesome.
Oh I wasn't joking Mike - (I just knew that it worked out about the same) I am dead serious of Paul wants to upgrade, my offer stands for him
Hi Morgan,
Thank-you for emailing. You think my site is lacking something and this is your nice way of telling me? Sorry for my sick jokes but I am in a bad mood since I canot get my domain name released yet. I cannot afford a new template until I have a sale from this one. I do not have Google view of Google directions and could probably use some copywriting knowing me. What do you suggest?
Always,
Nancy
Quick update folks - the first LEC 3.0 has now been installed in the Sarasota Market - you can view it here: http://www.sarasota-waterfront.com - I am going to have the copywriting team add some content etc check it out for a demo of the latest LEC release.
Murphy's Law prevails. The closing I was expecting in Feb to do my upgrades with got postponed to March 19... Maybe it will be offered around Christmas again and I can buy myself a good X-mas present
.
Morgan, Marc"s new site is looking good as usual.
Ditto Mempis!
Yeah hurry and get us a juicy LEC 4 promo so I can upgrade one of my template sites to a sweet LEC 4!!
Thanks.
Mike you can apply the same promo discounts to LEC 4 if you wish and pre-buy - it retails at $10,000 same as LEC 2.0 and should be ready in 30-60 days. Claim your market before it's gone!
Btw for those about to ask - this is LEC 4 that Mike is talking about http://comps.rewdev.com/limited_edition-custom_4/lec-4_mockup_2c.html
Sweet on the LEC 4 !
Morgan
I love both templates-they are great- can't wait to afford them!
Nancy
Ok. I love the LEC4. Best one I've seen yet, for sure.
Now...for your faithful custom website customers...what we need now is an affordable design "upgrade" to take advantage of some these new skills
Lol - Josh you outta know by now that all you "loyal custom customers" gotta do is email me at the beginning of the year and give me the years prelimary budget to deal with and I will always hook you up with a deal - promo or not
I know you've always got our back, bro
LEC4 "envy" has got me feeling inspired to do some upgrading so I'll put together that email here shortly.
Hi Morgan,
I am happy with the functionality of my sites. Most important to me is maintaining SEO. I have one competitor consistently above me with an I-house site. It really bugs me! To his credit, I know he blogs, works on content, manually added listings, links and etc.
What would you suggest I do for $1,000 ish?
Should we work on Blogs? How does the RSS feed work for an area like mine? is it a feed from a local paper? or something national? Or am I missunderstanding?
How about featured listings? is that considered content? I can draw them from my mls as long as it is updated daily.
I like the look of the birds eye view is that available to me?
Thanks for any help or suggestions
-Craig
Hi Morgan,
If I'm looking to get the most SEO bang for 1000 bucks - ish. what would you suggest?
I'm happy with the functionality of my sites. I'm most interested in staying on top of Mr. Google. There is one guy consistently above me with an I-House site. That really bugs me ;-).
Thanks for you advise,
Craig
None of my replies are showing up. I commented that I was waiting on a live Lec4 so I can see how it works, idx, listing displays, content, as well as which of the various versions I saw will be the final product. Of course Lec4 promo and I will jump on upgrading one of my templates.
oops, I didn't think my first post worked. sorry to be repetitive.
Btw another quick update - Park City Utah is gone for LEC 3 - Congrats Julie Olson
People keep asking about "best deal LEC" packages as well - so I thought I would post this
LEc 1 or 3 $8000
Streetview $500
Google Directions $300
Birds Eye View $300
301 Redirect module $200
XML / HTML sitemapping $500
Sub total: $9800 USD
Discounts as per promo 30%
Final subtotal: $6860 USD
+ hosting $840 USD
Total: $7700 USD
LEC 2 just add $1400
How many LEC's do you plan on doing? Is this something you will do every other month?
Definitely not every other month - this was a special exception due to the Sarasota MLS situation that I fast tracked a third LEC -
How many do I plan on doing? As many as make sense from a business perspective but I would probably say 3-4 max per year.
Morgan, I'm digging the above LEC4 mockup... after our chat I agree with you about taking this out of my hands... my projects are adding up and not getting me the end results (leads) i should have.. let's get this going and talk price, url, current site, etc.. I dont want to lose my existing pages because I have 50+ pages with good PR. maybe we can do everything on this site with a directory before the page, like choicerealestate/md/rockville-condos.php THANKS
Morgan is streetview, google directions, birdseye available in my area? Also who has streetview and birds eye that I can see an example of?
Streetview appears to be available in your market, birds eye and directions are as well.
Here is an example of streetview and directions (see tabs) http://www.guidetolocalrealestate.com/idx/residential/S525641/details.html
I will have to find you an example of an LEC with birds eye - stay tuned
What happens to SEO positioning etc. do you have to start over if you come out with a new domain name and the same amount of work to / time to climb climb climb
If you replace your old REW (or other) site with a new site (like an LEC) on the same domain then nothing bad (and lot's good) should happen to your SEO positioning - basicly don't worry about positioning.
That being said - if you start a "brand new" domain - then yes SEO clock starts from zero because optimization is domain specific.
Moral of the story - don't be afraid to "upgrade"
REW is building me a custom site and while I really wanted to do the custom IDX, my budget won't allow it right now. My local board would also charge me a $1,000 per year fee to do this. My main goal with this site is to have organic 1st page search results and to not be held hostage by Google adwords. My question is if I were to invest an extra $1,000 in my site, what would you spend it on in order to get the best results?
Thanks,
Erika McCann
P.S- Next time you have a 50% off like you had in Oct/Nov last year, I'll jump on it!
The best thing to do is use your existing domain, I had wanted to start fresh with a new one and decided not too and it was a smart move. But yea a new domain will take time.
Morgan,
I don't know too much about streetview, but even if it is available in my area is it only available in some neighborhoods or some streets or if it's available then it's available everywhere? How does that work exactly? Is there a place on google I can go test it to see how many different areas it works in, in the metro detroit area?
Is street view available in my area, Morgan?
Thanks.
In Lexington? Yes it is
Mark Z - Go to http://maps.google.com and do a search, zoom in and then click the little guy on the zoom box - Don't worry though the tab is conditional so if there is no streetview, the tab simply does not show
Shoot -- I got your message too late! I guess the promo's over
What did you need Roark?
Morgan,
thank-you for your emails. Money is tighter than I thought. I will have to wait for the next promotion. I am also having trouble with responding to my emails at times because it is not on your server yet- same problem as my domain name. I did not know that advanced access registered my email name. I am so happy I am away from that company. I would pay to get colors and spell check!
Just a quick update folks - this promotion is now closed (As for Friday)
Thank you everyone for your orders - your business is greatly apprecaited and we know you will enjoy your new products.
To your success!

Great Promo - Morgan!
Can you tell me what the IDX control panel is, Im sure I need to make upgrades to my IDX.
Thanks!
