New Premium Hosting at Real Estate Webmasters

Real Estate Webmasters is very excited to offer a new tier in hosting services for our high traffic / lead and higher need customers who demand the best. The new premium hosting is an optional package available to all Real Estate Webmasters customers on a "per domain" basis and current availability is very limited.

Who should switch:

The customers who should seriously consider switching to the premium hosting accounts (generally) have the following characteristics (most are symptoms caused by having successful high traffic high lead websites). But also there are those who quite simply must have the best of everything available. Do any of these items right a bell for you?

  • High traffic website
  • High new / returning lead volume
  • Slow backend (due to traffic and lead volume)
  • High dollar market (loss of one deal is very costly)
  • Frequent (to many connections) issues

Why you want to switch:

  • More powerful server
  • More server memory (RAM)
  • Exclusivity (max 30 domains per server)
  • Less down time
  • Faster website response
  • Faster backend response
  • Eliminate "to many connnection" errors
  • Populated server issue resistant
  • Redundency (site & IDX data & updates cron hosted in more than one location)
  • Premium (first in line) response - premium boxes will be address first in line if there are connectivity issues in the network
  • Exclusive premium tech support - top level techs are assigned 5 hours min per month for higher level support
  • *New CMS 2.0 lead management tuning - dramatically speed up your lead manager

Normal hosting fees:
Website - $40 per month (paid yearly) includes 2 gigs of soft storage & 5 email accounts
IDX data - $30 per month (paid yearly) covers the storage of IDX data hosting.

Premium hosting fees:
Website (Per domain) - $100 per month (paid yearly) includes 2 gigs of soft storage & 5 email accounts
IDX data (Does not change) - $30 per month (paid yearly per feed) covers the storage of IDX data hosting.

The math is pretty simple - it's $60 in additional hosting per month (paid yearly) for a much faster and responsive website & backend that is resistant to populated server issues & receives premium level "first response" support. If you have a high traffic / high lead site than I strongly encourage you to opt into this new program as just 1 deal lost would pay for the upgrade for a lifetime.

Dam i need this for my nuhomesource but it is a little rich for my blood.

Morgan, count me in. I know that especially in these times, it isn't easy to pony up extra money, but if this provides the reliability and speed that is expected it is money well spent. Also looking forward to the included CMS 2 Lead Management tuning. When can I be switched over?

Posted 8 months ago

Awesome program. The loss of one deal for us more than offsets the cost. Eddy pretty much summed it up... speed and reliability is the name of the game.

Posted 8 months ago

Morgan - count me in!    We appreciate that you keep up with the needed enhancements for high traffic sites.   I am also looking forward to the CMS tune up.   What is included in that?

Posted 8 months ago

Eddy and Drew thanks so much - I have put you both down for the lead management optimization service as well as first in line for tranfer to the new boxes. Eddy as for an ETA not quite sure yet, need to hear back from the server techs on when all the custom configs etc are complete but will let you know as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will have our team adjust your TTL's down to 5 mins so that when we are ready to make the switch there is no DNS delays. (This should not cause any down time anyways)

Hey Wayne - it is not any additional features in the CMS or lead manager, it is having our programmers do some very fancy shmancy database optimization (queries etc) as well as doing some user table modifications and other technical sounding stuff all aimed at improving the performane of the lead manager for high traffic / lead sites.

Posted 8 months ago

Btw Drew - are you wanting just the www.hartanovteam.com site on the new servers or www.guidetolocalrealestate.com as well?

Posted 8 months ago

Of course both . have to have the best. It's only money that hopefully makes more money..lol

Posted 8 months ago

Morgan if i was to do it with my setup i would only need it for my nuhomesource.com right?

Posted 8 months ago

Count me in too.

Posted 8 months ago

No Mike, sorry I don't think so - your custom config (many sites feeding into 1 site) would mean all sites would have to be on the same box as far as I know.

Josh - you are on the list bud!

Buddy Blake sent an email response as well, so looks like the first box is filling up

Morgan - where's the new box at (RackSpace)? Is this the server they just moved me to (a couple of weeks ago)? My hosting (which was paid last week) was 40% more this yr than last. Can you contact me regarding how much more (on top of what we just paid) this service would be?

Posted 8 months ago

Jim - The new server is at RackSpace. This is a different server than the one you were recently moved to. The one you were recently moved to is a normal web server box that has less people on it. As we get more clients we will be loading up that box as well. The premium server Morgan is talking about is limited to 30 domains ber server and has much more RAM than a regular web box.

Posted 8 months ago

Steven / Morgan - okay, go ahead & move me to this box as well. Any idea when the move will be?

Posted 8 months ago

I'm in, switch me over.

Thanks,

Calum

Posted 8 months ago

Jim - your on the list. We're not sure on an ETA yet. We expect to get the servers today or tomorrow and then a few days to get them setup.

Calum - you have a couple domains, I assume you want www.tampahomes24-7.com moved?

Posted 8 months ago

Steven put John Allen's www.buysarasota.com on the list to - thanks

Posted 8 months ago

Morgan,

Please do this yesterday, but bill me starting tomorrow.

Next Step, 1 Server, 1 Website!

Posted 8 months ago

You got it buddy - Steven please add Mr Askins to the list.

Posted 8 months ago

Count us in, Coach...

Thanks - Kev

Posted 8 months ago

So if i move the one site, will it hurt the feed over. i couldnt imagine it being a problem.

Posted 8 months ago

Yes, just TampaHomes24-7.com.  Thanks Steven!

Posted 8 months ago

Calum, John Allen, Mike Askins, and Kevin you're all on the list now.

Mike Pannell - The way that your child sites feed their leads into nuhomesource.com means that all the sites need to be on the same server.

Posted 8 months ago

I would like to be moved to the new server as well.  Thanks!

Posted 8 months ago

Mike Pannel - It's all domains (that are feeding each other) or none - (which means paying for each domain) - sorry but even if it weren't a technical issue, you would be consuming the resources of x sites due to all of thier volume being channelled and managed from 1 backend.

Posted 8 months ago

I may go with it also. Will this solve the issues of no pictures being down loaded at times and no date feed showing up? It happens maybe once a month or so. Ususally says something like invalid argument.

Posted 8 months ago

IDX data feed issues are separate from hosting issues - as far as I know IDX images (which are stored on their own separate dedicated server) have nothing to do with web servers (performance, errors or otherwise) - what you are reporting is likely either an FMLS issue in terms of delivering the feed, or perhaps some investigation needs to happen in terms of the FMLS cron on our side - but if it only happens once in a while, I highly doubt it's our cron.

Hi Morgan,

If I order the upgrade will my site be migrated at the same time or at another date?

Will there be any downtime as a result of the migration?

Thanks,

Brian

Posted 8 months ago

Brian your site will be upgraded within the same week as everyone else and there  should not be any significant downtime - that being said, there is a notification of server outage that has gone out to all REW customers (I think it's next Friday) - we are moving to a "bigger closet" (yes that's a technical term) - I ordered a bunch more servers a couple of weeks ago - the new premium hosting servers but also some new image servers for the IDX servers and a few new web servers as well - not to worry that downtime won't be bad either, I think it's max 2 hours starting at 2am or something.

Does this only help the CMS be faster? What about the actual website? I am having a lot of these issues on dwellatlanta.com:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Too many connections in /var/www/vhosts/dwellatlanta.com/httpdocs/sql_connect.php on line 16

64 Bit Red hat enterprise
Dell Poweredge 2950 III
Quad Core Intel Xeon L5420 processors
8 GB Fully buffered Ram
4 x 146 GB (10k RPM) 2.5 SAS Drives with RAID 10
Redundant Power
100 Mbps
Unmetered Managed backup (Weekly full, daily differential)

That is the basic specs for the box - whch is actually more powerful than any of our current boxes AND where the standard CORE hosting box might have upwards of 200 domains serviced (sharing resources) the Premium hosting servers will only ever store 30

So yes your CMS / lead manager will be faster, your site probably faster, and the to many connections error will be reduced to the most rare of occurence if not eliminated altogether

I like the sound of this "and the to many connections error will be reduced to the most rare of occurence if not eliminated altogether"

Please put Dwell Atlanta in for this as well.

Hi Jason -- I have put your request through to Administration and you should be receiving an invoice shortly.

Posted 8 months ago

Just as a follow up to all that posted a comment requesting a site (or sites) be moved to the Premium Server: Administration has been informed of your request and you should be receiving an invoice for review and settlement shortly.

Please be aware that payment for the Premium Hosting guarantees your spot on that server, not the issuance of an invoice.

Further incentive: the order in which the invoices are settled is the order in which your site will be moved to the Premium Server.  Moving sites to this new server does take time,  as does the tuning for the CMS Lead Manager on your site.  So, pay early to reserve your spot and have your site moved ASAP...

Posted 8 months ago

Is that fast enough?

Posted 8 months ago

- Holly is all over it as I type...

Posted 8 months ago

Sign us up for www.jmaproperties.com - When you're doing the optimizations, please take a look at our map search as that's where we've had the most problems.

Posted 8 months ago

Thanks Milan, this is through to Administration.  Watch for the invoice...

"New CMS 2.0 lead management tuning - dramatically speed up your lead manager" -- this is included with the Premium Hosting.  Regarding the Map Search: this would be outside of the Premium Hosting package, feel free to contact me directly on this.

Would it be possible to setup 2 test sites with the same amount of data front and public backend access 1 on current servers 1 on new servers so that we could "kick the tires" on the increased levels of speed/responsiveness?

Posted 7 months ago

No it would not - but I am sure those that have gone through the move / speed up process could tell you if there was a difference for them (especially in the lead management side) - if you don't have a ton of traffic / leads on your REW site, the difference (or perceived difference) will be much smaller - but if you have 3000+ uniques a month at at least 150 leads per month accumulating it is really something that should be done.

Posted 7 months ago

The increased speed on the backend alone is well worth the investment.

Posted 7 months ago

Dam Dam Dam, I wish i could afford this. According to google just one of my sitees gets 10k a month and all my site get a total of 1200 leads a month.

Posted 7 months ago

Will we be notified when our site is switched over?

Posted 7 months ago

Hello Matt

Yes you will be emailed before and after the move.

Posted 7 months ago

Well worth it.

Posted 7 months ago

I am very sure it is but i have 4 sites, $400 a month is a little much

Posted 7 months ago

Maybe start out with your site that has the most traffic and see if it makes a difference to you and then make your decision on whether it is worth it.  I have noticed a huge difference in speed on the back end.

Posted 7 months ago

Great suggestion Justin, but Mike would need to bring all or none across given the configuration he has for the four sites.
