Inman Connect Create Hackathon - REW Enters Developers Challenge

We (technically myself, Michael and Phil) have entered the Inman Connect Create Hackathon (or developers challenge) down in San Fransisco the first week of August.
What is the Connect Create?
It's a contest where small groups of developers compete (on site) to develop their most creative / useful / killer real estate related app. You can plan it (we certainly have a plan) but you can't write a single line of code or pre-design the interface before you get there. We are certainly committed to honoring these rules and because it's an honor system we hope all our worthy competitors will honor it as well.
What do you win? Nothing really - except braggin rights - woot! It's really just a chance to stand up in front of tons of Real Estate Related folks and demonstrate our mad skillz.
So if you are heading to the Inman Real Estate Connect 2009 in San Francisco, we hope you will stop by and check us out and take a peek at what we will come up with.

I will be posting on the web about the app for sure - in fact it is going to hopefully become an integral part of our new line of low cost IDX solutions soon to be available.
My idea is to build an "IDX Search Builder" - which basically allows a customer with an account to build out their own search types / options. For instance some people like to have really simple searches (just city, price, beds, baths etc) whereas other people like for folks to be able to search every option under the sun - I personally like having both options available.
So what we are going to try to build is a UI mapped against SOCAL data that will allow the users select options they want from the left hand side pane and drag it to the right hand side and save it. Once they have all the options they want in the order and type they want etc, they can publish to the web and it will give them the URL for that search which will probably look something like www.realestatewebmasters.com/idx/username/customsearchname/ and then they can go ahead and start using their iframed IDX search wherever they like.
That's the theory anyways - whether we can pull it off is another story. Of course it won't be a production model in 48 hours, but the goal is to have something to show by the end of it.
