Flushmate III recall... Wenatchee and Leavenworth Home Inspection

The CSPC last week issued a recall on Flushmate III series
503 pressure assist toilet flushing system because of a possible
impact and/or laceration hazard due to bursting by the vessel weld
seam. This has been reported to shatter the tank and launch the
tank lid.
Flushmate has received 304 reports of their product
exploding. This has caused property damage as well as 14 impact or
laceration injuries up to the date of June 21, 2012.
The company has voluntarily decided to recall about 2.3
million units.
These have been distributed at Home Depot and Lowe's stores
and plumbing contractors throughout the nation. The system cost
about $108. This maybe also installed in toilets for several
manufacturers such as American Standard, Crane, Eljer, Gerber,
Kohler, Mansfield and St. Thomas.

The consumer must confirm with their serial numbers that their
system is included in the recall.
