California has a new $10,000 tax credit for First time / new home buyers

Governor Schwarzenegger signed AB 183 approving $200 million for first time and new home buyer tax credits. The bill allocates $100 million for  first-time home buyers and $100 million for purchasers of new homes. Buyers who close escrow on homes between May 1, 2010 and Dec., 31, 2010 will be able to take the allowed tax credit.
