Modern Real Estate Marketing

All Realtors and real estate agents talk about selling your home for the highest price in the shortest period of time!

The same message has been part of introducing real estate agents to getting listings since my Uncle was a Broker in North Georgia years ago. Over the past decade the world has changed and the way that buyers find the property that they ultimately purchase has changed as well.  These changes are researched and the results are provided by the National Association of Realtors and other research groups each year.  The interesting and somewhat discouraging issue is that so many Realtors don;t know where buyers find the homes that they buy even though the information is widely avaliable.

Where do buyers first find the homes they purchase?

Knowing that so few buyers initially find their home in the newspaper and Magazines why do Realtors continue to spend such a high percentage of their marketing budget and time focused on print advertising?  The answers that I most frequently is that they have always worked in the past and that home owners are demanding that they advertise in them!  To the later - my question is always - have you shared with the owner that so few buyers are searching in the newspapers and magazines nowdays.
