real estate and architecture community

Since October 1st, 2007, ourbania.com, the community about real estate is live. People who are interested in commercial real estate, architecture, urban planning and the so-called "built environment" can explore and build buildings online and meet other real estate enthusiasts. They will find an ambiance which inspires and can create an online metropolis with hundreds of thousands of crosslinks between people, buildings and cities.

The community is founded by mediaman GmbH, a German specialist of online-platforms and processes and Eurohypo, a leading specialist for commercial real estate. One goal of ourbania is to amend the online discussion about the future of cities and give people another place for communication and exchange. In opposition to perfectcity.com, the buildings, called “urban items”, are in the spotlight and people, called “citizens” have more possibilities to take part: they can create their own urban items or comment on existing ones. Additionally, they can meet other people to share thoughts and ideas about buildings and landmarks. On February 7th, a new profile site was launched. The citizen gets the opportunity to provide other members with information about his academic career, professional skills and his general interests. These new features represent only one element of the steady improvement process towards increased usability and more individual benefits. Others will follow in the near future. "Buildings in my life" is already implemented. People are able to add buildings to their profiles, and tell others what their connection to this building is, for example: provided the furniture, part of the architects team etc.
