The 750 million dollar investment will add 1.5 million squre feet of manufacturing space and is expected to add 500 full time jobs by 2012.   According to the Greenville News March 11 edition, "With an economic impact study showing that nearly three jobs have been created across the state's economy for every one job at the plant, the ivestment could result in thousands of new jobs."

This will no doubt be a great infusion into the local Greenville economy bringing more jobs and more demand for local housing.  Overall the economy here in Greenville is fairing well despite the national picture and the real estate market here posted a gain in 2007 in terms of median home price.

This is one of the advantages of a weak dollar. The weak dollar makes it way to expensive to build products in other countries while paying people in Euros or other strong currency. The effect is they need to build the products they sell to Americans (in dollars) in America. All outsourcing has become more expensive and will cause companies to bring back many jobs. Against many, currancies the cost of outsourcing has increased by 50% over the last year (except for those that accept the US dollar for pay).
