Looking for the Right Deal--Greenville SC Real Estate

Every home buyer wants to get a deal, right?  Well at least this has been my experience working as a relocation specialist  for the past 5 years here in the Greenville SC Real Estate market!  I haven't meet a buyer yet that said under normal circumstances, "I think I will pay full price for this home!"  It is usually the contrary. "How much can I get his home for?" most buyers will ask.

Now with the national economy struggling, many buyers are more inclined to offer a lower percentage of the asking price. But how do you really go about getting some real equity in your next purchase? I am going to outline four steps to finding and getting the best deal possible.

This week I am going to focus on step one: Selecting the right Buyer's Agent. There are currently over 2400 Realtors in the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors.  You want to find one that has experience, market knowledge, and one that is a great negotiator. Beyond this, you want to find a Realtor (Buyer's Agent) that works well with you, that communicates effectively, that has a tough work mentality, and above all, listens to and understands your needs. Well, "How do you find an agent like this?" you might ask. My answer is simple: interview several on the phone before meeting in person. You can visit our local board at www.ggar.com for references.  Look for Realtors with designations. Some common designations are CRS (certified residential specialist), ABR (accredited buyers representative), e-Pro (Internet trained Professional), and Broker (brokers typically have more education than a regular sales agent and can function as a manager of agents).
