You have choice's when you want to buy a property in Rancho Bernardo.  You can buy a older home or a brand new condo almost at the same price.  You're asking which one to buy.  Well, lets compare.  For the positives on owning a older home, you own the land, have a yard, most likely no H.O.A. (but some communities do have H.O.A) and you can do whatever you want to the house.  For the negatives on owning a older home, its OLD and maintenance on the house can be costly.  Now for  the positives on owning a new condo, it's brand new, you pick the upgrades, brand new beautiful community and no one else lived in it.  For the negatives on owning a new condo, it has a H.O.A. and Mello Roos fees, you don't own the land, not much of a  backyard but just a patio space and depending on the community guest parking can be bad.

There you have it.  The positives and negatives on owning a older home versus a new condo.  So which one you should buy?  Well it is all on you preferences and your living situation.  With this information, you should know what fits you needs.
