Portland Oregon, January 2008 Market Statistics

The January 2007 inventory was at 12.8 months, which is the highest recorded level. The last time inventory looked like this was in January 2000 when the market reached 10.1 months of inventory. Prices on the other hand are still holding steady, and the market is showing solid year-over-year gains.

I don't know the numbers off hand, but there a couple of places you could go to inquire. My first bet would be to call the Portland Metro Association of Realtors, http://www.pmar.org , and see if they will tell you how many members they have. I have heard anecdotally that the membership is down a bit this year, but that's after hitting an all time high just a few months ago.
