How to upload a pdf or doc file using the File Manager

Once your document is on our server, you have the ability to share this file with anyone that is connected to the internet.. You can even add a link to your document on the main navigation of your website or you can send emails that link to your document.
How to upload a file to the File Manager
Login to to the CMS and put your curser over the "Tools" button -> click ->File Manager

In the File Manager click -> Browse<- and select your your file from its location on your computer. *note: You will be able to use pdf and doc files only |
Click ->Post File: The File Name, The Date uploaded and the File Size are displayed and now saved in the File Manager as shown in the example below.

How to link to a file in the File Manager
Now that your file is stored on th server, we can create a main navigation link that opens up the document.
1. Right click the file name in the File Manager and choose "Copy Link Location"
2. Click on "Add Main nav Link" on the right hand side of the cms.
3. Highlight the text in the "Link (URL)" text area. Right click and choose "paste" to insert the location of the file.
4. Type the text you want to be displayed in the "anchor text" area. In the "Target" drop down list list , choose whether you want to open the file in a new window or the current window as shown in the example below.

5. Click the "Add New Link" button.
6. The link with your anchor text should now be in your main navigation menu on your site. Test and enjoy!

Other linking ideas
If you want to place a link on a page that opens up a file from the File Manager:
Type your anchor text where you want the link to be on your page.
Highlight the text.
Click the "Link" button in wysiwyg editor.
The Insert Link dialogue box opens. In the "Link List" drop down menu, all files that you have uploaded to the file manager are listed.
Once you select a file, it gets placed in the "Link URL" box. Choose your settings and "Insert"

Now you have a link on your page that opens up your pdf or doc file.
