Metro East Side ReMax - iFrame Tutorial and Order Information
Posted Nov 21, 2008 @ 3:59 pm, Viewed by 795 Visitors, Read 908 Times. We have been receiving a few inquiries on how to go about setting up the iFrame for Metro East Side ReMax Agents, and I decided to throw up a brief tutorial outlining the order process and configuration of the iFrame IDX solution. If you have already placed your order and are simply looking for information on how to setup the iFrame, skip to the "Heres how you do it" section below.
Ordering Your iFrame
We have made it as simple as possible for you to order your iFrame IDX solution for MLS Listings search. Here are the three easy, and painless, steps:
- Download the order form to your computer - it is a PDF document, Adobe Acrobat Reader is required
- Open the form, complete Customer Information & Order Confirmation sections and sign the order form
- Fax or scan & e-mail the form back to us [Fax: 250.753.7209 or e-mail: holly at realestatewebmasters.com]
When completing the order form you only have to fill out the Customer Information and Order Confirmation sections, which can be found on the bottom half of the one page order form. The form is available here: http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/metroeastiframe.pdf
Thats it. The lead time on installing and configuring your iFrame is generally 2 to 3 business days after receiving your order.
Here's how you do it
Firstly, you may be doing nothing else than pointing your web developer to this blog post. Most development companies will setup your iFrame for you, and everything they need is contained below (the URL and code to display the iFrame IDX).
The URL for your iframe:
http://www.metroeastside.com/iframe/your-name/
You will see /your-name-frame/ replace your-name with your name -- for instance, if Mickey Mouse was an Agent it would read /mickey-mouse-frame/ and the full URL would be http://www.metroeastside.com/iframe/mickey-mouse/
It is important that you keep your name in lower case, please do not use capital letters.
The code for your iFrame:
The code to insert into your website is very simple HTML, usually referred to as iFrame code.
<iframe height="2000" width="100%" frameBorder="0" src="http://www.metroeastside.com/iframe/your-name/"></iframe>
All that needs ot be done is (1) create a page on your REW site (or have your web site provider create a page if you do not have an REW site) and (2) paste the modified code above into your html. Then save it, refresh that page and enjoy the iFrame IDX solution.
Are you interested in an iFrame of the Map Search? Read on...
You can easily iFrame the Map Search as well, which is a great feature for Listings search. Simply add "map/" to the end of the URL above - see the example below for more detail:
http://www.metroeastside.com/iframe/mickey-mouse/map/
and use that URL in the iFrame code... such as:
<iframe height="2000" width="100%" frameBorder="0" src="http://www.metroeastside.com/iframe/your-name/map/"></iframe>
SETUP IS REQUIRED
Please be aware that each Agent's iFrame must be created and configured to pass the Leads directly to your system. The URL will not work if you attempt to create your iFrame without paying your setup fee -- our team actually has to set it up in order for it to work and pass Leads directly to you.
If you do iframe the URL without settling your invoice and having us complete the setup, all Leads generated by your site will go to the Broker, and not to you, the Agent. Please be sure that you have completed the Order Form, including your billing address and credit card information, and received confirmation that your iFrame is enabled prior to installing the iFrame code above.
Most, if not all, of the questions from Metro East Side Agent questions will be standard, as will be the answers. To keep things organized and simple, please post all questions in the comments section of this blog post. I will be happy to provide information and examples of sites that are using the iFrame, our Template, LEC or Custom site solutions and modules if you are interested.

Hi Chris - this is the default behavior of the Map Search included with our IDX solution; you would have to approach your Broker to request a change and have the Broker submit a request for estimate to us here at REW.
Glad to see you are enjoying the iFrame IDX and all the best this year, hopefully things have picked up in your area since the sun came out.

The IDX frame looks great. I have used the map search for a few days now and have noticed that when we click on an individual listing detail then try to click on the "back to search results" it does not take us back there but instead to the begining of the map search where we must re enter in our search criteria. Can this be addressed? Thanks!
