Leaving Copies of E-Mail on the Server

Once and a while I get a request to have e-mail left on the server for multiple people to be able to access from different PC's

This is a setting in Outlook and below is the step-by-step on how to turn this feature on.

This tutorial was created using Outlook 2007, Outlook 2003 will be similar enough to make sense.

First we go to the "Tools" menu the select "Account Settings" (shown below)

Select "Change..." from the Menu under E-mail.

Once the "Change E-mail Account dialog is up go to the "More Settings" button in the lower left corner of the box. (see below)

This button will open this:

Select the "Advanced" tab.

Then in the bottom section under "Delivery" you will see the options for leaving copies of your mail on the server.

As you can see you have a few options.

Complete your choice

Then hit "OK"
 "Next"
 "Finish"
then "Close"

And you are Done.

Now you will not automatically download your mail to your e-mail browser.

I hope this was helpful.

Ciao for now.

Thomas

Worth mentioning, you do have a maximum quota of emails you can store on your hosting account, so it is a good idea to disable this or delete emails off the server as you no longer require them so as to not fill up your email box and stop email from being sent or received.
