Outlook Express Settings for Rackspace Servers

Here are the steps to follow for setting up Outlook Express with your domain and the Rackspace servers.
First we will start with the same settings for the example case as last time.
My ficitional domain www.rewthomas.com
My user account : thomas
My password: potato1
(See fig 1 below)

After selecting "Accounts..." from the "Tools Menu", you will see the following screen.
(See fig 2 below)

If you have already set up your previous mail account or Hotmail account they will be listed here.
You will want to "Add" a new account for your custom Domain E-mail Account
Follow the screens below to complete the setup of your account.

Enter your user name and other details, we will use our example to illustrate.

You E-Mail address is next.

The Incoming POP3 and SMTP settings follow.
After hitting "Next" the configuration is done.

To confirm your settings are correct select Properties at the following screen.

You will see your settings displayed like they are on the following screenshot

Notice the box at the bottom of the menu for "Outgoing Mail Server" settings called "My server requires authentication" is checked.
After confirming that setting, click "Settings..." and make sure you see the following radio button selected. If it is not selected please do so now.

Your e-mail is now set-up and ready to use with Outlook Express
