Storm Formerly Known as Fay Fizzles

Living in Florida has it's perks, and has it's issues.  One issue is the fact that you have to deal with Hurricanes....it is a fact of life.  Everyplace in the US (or at least all I have either lived in or visited) have their quirks that you have to deal with.  Boston has its Blizzards/Snow Storms and Northeasters, Midwest has its Tornado's, West Coast has it earthquakes..I think you get the hint.  Anyway, I was kinda looking forward to some strong winds and some major rain (call me crazy) but I sit here looking at my weather station located in my back yard and guess what I see...2mph winds and 0.00 rainfall.  Wow, this is a hell of a storm.  Don't get me wrong, I don't want my windows smashed in, or the roof lifted off or anything like that, but a little more mother nature action would have been cool.  After all, I have my video camera and my DSLR ready to start snapping photos and video.  I kinda wanted to say I lived thru Hurricane Fay in 2008 but that is not going to be.

Anyway, on the other side, I was getting pretty nervous for a while, but am still waiting for a pickup of winds at least a little.  Time will tell today.

If anyone is interested in viewing the weather from my backyard, my weather station transmits online so you can see it in real time...if your interested.

The website address is http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KMAYARMO2

Enjoy!

@Robert ~ I am glad to hear that the storm is weakening. I was on the fringe of Hurricane Dean last year while visiting the Dominican Republic and it was no fun.

Oh yeah...no problem here...seems like the Tampa bay area has some type of protective bubble around it...my folks like south of me in Estero (near ft myers) and they are now getting pounded by rain and the folks north of us and east o us are getting pounded by rain, but we have clear skys...go figure
