Once known primarily as a vacation or retirement destination, Sarasota today is home to a diverse population of all ages, ethnicities and income levels.  The weather here  is unimaginably beautiful. Long-time residents swear that Sarasota County has its own "micro-climate."  When rains fall in Tampa, just 60 miles north, or down south in Fort Myers, the skies over Sarasota remain fair Sarasota almost constantly.  Add in the warm and inviting waters of the Gulf of Mexico, wide expanses of powdery sand and gorgeous sunsets, and it's easy to see why Sarasota Florida holds such appeal.
