The Alpharetta city council voted to increase the amount of real estate within the city with the annexation of the Berkshire Manor subdivision, Cogburn Road annexation and the Winthrope Chase annexation. Also on the docket to be discussed was a petition to rezone 4 acres of land in the Hampton Hall subdivision from AG to R-15 to allow for an additional 7 or 8 new homes between 4000 and 5000 square feet. Letters will be sent out to the newly incorporated residents with regard to sanitation services today. Another petition for Camelot on Canton was read for the rezoning of 5.4 acres of land from R-15 to R-10MHD to build 54 townhomes in the Alpharetta Garden District. Many residents of and around the Alpharetta Garden District are upset with rezoning to allow for townhomes in the district as they do not feel that it fits the style the residents have come to love.
